Tournament Description
If the pickleball bug has bitten you recently and you are working on mastering your skills, then the Züca Rookie Rally at Pictona is a tournament just for you. It is your opportunity to play others of like skill and age in a fun round robin format. Team up with your partner to play men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles at the 2.5 and 3.0 skill level.
We held this event last year with close to 300 “rookies” (a positive term for novice players). You told us you enjoyed the event and would like us to conduct the tournament again. We aim to please so next year’s Rookie Rally 2024 will be played January 13-14,2024.
As you begin your journey into tournament play, you’ll want to rate yourself as accurately as possible so that you are not under or over-matched. The best competition is among equally matched opponents.

Dates: January 13-14, 2024
Location: Pictona at Holly Hill, Florida
Divisions: Men, Women, Mixed doubles
Age categories: under 50, 50+, 60+, and 70+
Skill levels: 2.5 and 3.0
Brackets with less than 4 teams registered will be combined with another bracket.
Format: Round robin with playoff
Women and men play Saturday January 13, and mixed play is Sunday, January 14
Tournament fee: $50 registration, plus $15 for each event
Each player registering will need to pay the tournament fees.

Food and Beverage Policy
Bottle fillers and water fountains are located throughout the Pictona Campus. Water and sports drinks are the only beverages permitted to be brought into Pictona and players may bring fruit and energy bars into the facility. We request no other drinks or food be brought into Pictona. The Depot (our concession stand) and The Kitchen (our restaurant) provide an appealing selection of items at reasonable prices. The purchase of food and beverages is a vital part of supporting the costs to operate the not-for-profit Pictona.

Dog Policy
In accordance with the city of Holly Hill’s ordinance, no pets are allowed on the Pictona campus. We welcome the presence of service animals assisting people with disabilities. A service animal is an animal that is individually trained to do a specific disability-related job or task for a person with a disablility. Pets or other animals (whether or not they provide comfort or emotional support) are not allowed on-site.

Refund Policy
Withdraw from the tournament for any reason before January 5, 2024 and we’ll refund your money less a $25 service fee. Refunds will be processed at completion of tournament.
No refunds when cancelling after January 5.
Prior to January 5, 2024, players may seek to transfer the registration to another person. A $5/event transfer fee must be paid to cover the non refundable software service fee from Pickleball Brackets.
