The Fall Brawl is the first leg of six (6) tournaments in the Eastern Shore Pickleball Addicts (ESPA) 2023-2024 Tournament Series. Players can participate in one or all of the tournaments in the series. However, there is no requirement to commit to the series in order to play in this tournament.

The top 8 teams in the point standings will receive an invitation to the ESPA Tournament Finale in June.

Mixed Doubles- Sunday Oct 8, 2023

Please read this message in its entirety for important information concerning the tournament that you should be aware of prior to your arrival

FORMATS - May vary dependent on the number of teams in various brackets. Some typical formats include:

Double Elimination Brackets

• Winner’s Bracket Matches – 2 of 3 games to 11, win by 2

• Survivor’s Bracket Matches – 1 game to 15, win by 2

• Bronze Medal Matches - 1 game to 15, win by 2

• Gold Medal Matches - 2 of 3 games to 11, win by 2. If survivor’s bracket winner wins the 2 of 3 match, a final 15 point, win by 2 game will be played to determine the Gold medal winner

Round Robin Tournament brackets

• Double Round Robin – Each match will be 1 game to 21, win by 1

• Single Round Robin - Each match will best 2 of 3 games to 11, win by 1

Pool Play -

. Participants are broken down into 2 or more pools; players play all teams in pool in a round robin format

. At the end of the pool rounds, the top teams move into the medal rounds.

As a part of the ESPA series of tournaments, our skill/age categories align with those which will be used by all the other tournaments. We understand that there are many participants who have enjoyed our tournaments aged 70 and beyond. To accommodate those players we have added a 70+ age category for all events that is not one of the bracket categories in the ESPA series. If you choose to compete in the ESPA series, please sign up for the 60+ category. If you choose to play with others aged 70+, sign up for that age category. Be aware that you will NOT be competing in the ESPA tournament if you sign up for the 70+ category and your results will not be applied to that series."

TIME OUTS

Each team will be given (2) 1 minute time outs per game for all rounds

• Player's age as of: 12/31/23

• Minimum Age of Player: 13

• Final Registration Deadline (Fully Registered by): Oct 1, 2023

• Tournament Sanctioning: Not Sanctioned

• Registration - $60.00 which includes up to (2) doubles events

• When registering online, online waiver signature is used.

• Online payment via PayPal is available. PayPal also allows credit card payments.

• • Primary Ball: Franklin x40

• • Practice Courts Available: Friday afternoon. Saturday, Sunday : prior to 8:00am tournament start time

• • Referees will only be used for Gold medal games. All other games will be played using the honor system, calling your own lines and the server calling the score before they begin the motion of the serve.

A light lunch will be available to all participants on Sunday
