Yeppoon Retro Classic 40+

Step back in time and bring your retro vibes to the Yeppoon Retro Classic 40+, a premier pickleball tournament for players aged 40 and above. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or just love the thrill of the game, this event welcomes all skill levels in a fun and competitive atmosphere.

Thursday 24th July - 3pm - Pineapple Alley Rally Comp - CAPPED at 56 people - PLAY FOR $$$ - BOOK THROUGH OPEN SPORTS

Saturday 26th July - 3pm - Teams Mash Up - CAPPED at 112 people - BOOK THROUGH OPEN SPORTS

Saturday 26th July - 6pm - Catered Dinner and Fun Retro Event at the Tennis Clubhouse - Come dressed in RETRO attire - BOOK THROUGH OPEN SPORTS

Players can compete in up to three events at each tournament from Friday 25th - Sunday 27th July:

Round Robin with Playoffs:

4 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top four teams.

5 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top four teams.

6 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top four teams.

7 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top four teams.

8 teams: 2 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.

9 teams: 1 pool of 4, 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.

10 teams: 2 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.

11 teams: 1 pool of 5, 1 pool of 6. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.

12 teams: 2 pools of 6. Single Round Robin with Playoffs for top two teams from each pool.

Pool Play: 1 game to 15, win by 2 or 1 game to 11 win by 2

Playoffs: 1 game to 15, win by 2

Bronze Medal Match: 2/3 games to 11, win by 2 (Singles and Skinny Singles 1 game to 15, win by 2)

Gold Medal Match: 2/3 games to 11, win by 2

*Events to be combined if there are less than 4 teams in Doubles or less than 4 players in Singles. Tournament organizers possess the right to combine events based on either skill or age to provide the best overall playing experience, given the circumstances.

Any tie on points will be decided using points differentials.

The top three players in each division across singles, doubles and mixed doubles will be announced and crowned at the end of the year.

The Festival Village will have coffee, food and beverages available for of the tournament. Viewing and relaxed seating and shade options will be available, but participants and spectators are more than welcome to bring their own seating.

PLEASE NOTE:

- Skill Levels: For Doubles, you must sign up at the skill level of the higher-rated partner.

DIRECTOR'S DISCRETION

The tournament director reserves the right to:

- review, and possibly alter the rating of players who self-rate below or above their actual ability.

- move players and teams between skill level brackets if on verification the wrong event has been entered.

- merge or split brackets based on event registration. Any event with fewer than 4 entries will be combined with another event of closest possible standard.

- change start times to facilitate smooth running of the tournament

- The tournament director reserves the right to modify the events and/or schedule as needed pending influences beyond our control (ie. Fire drill etc).

Refunds will be provided no questions asked up to the close of registration (minus Stripe fees).

After registration closes provision of medical certificate will ensure a full refund minus the stripe transaction and $7.00 admin service charges.

General withdrawal after the close of registration will result in a $40 administration fee

Once draws and times are published (3 days prior to tournament commencing), NO refund will be given, except when a medical certificate can be provided as above.

If the event needs to be cancelled by the Tournament Committee then no refunds will be given.
