WVU MEDICINE PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT

The tournament will be hosted by the Winchester Country Club and is one of many events held as part of the 98th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival from April 25- May 4. Please be sure to visit thebloom.com for more information regarding the festival.

This is a non-sanctioned indoor tournament being held at the Winchester Country Club with split Age and Skill Divisions in Men's and Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Tournament matches will take place on 12 lined pickleball courts inside the tennis Bubble.

Tournament Schedule:

Registration fee is $55 per player with an additional event entry fee of $30 per event. Every registration includes ENTRY to the player party, (Friday Night) free t-shirt and other tournament/festival giveaway items. We are planning to cap registration at 200, so please register early to ensure your spot in the tournament.

ALL Players must REGISTER FOR THE PARTY so we have a good head count for food and beverages.

EVENT SCHEDULE

4/25 Friday

The Winchester Country Club will be hosting a Welcome Party Starting at 730pm We will be providing an open bar of Beer, Seltzers, Wine, Liquor and nonalcoholic beverages and Heavy Hors d'oeuvres

Also, during the Welcome Party, we will be putting on an Exhibition match featuring local Professional players!

4/26 Saturday

Men's & Women's Doubles play!

4/27 Sunday

Mixed Doubles play

RULES & FORMAT:

This is not a USAPA sanctioned event; however, all USAPA 2025 rules will apply.

Brackets will be either Double Elimination or Single/Double Round Robin depending on the number of participating teams and/or players. Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust the Bracket Format as needed.

Double Elimination bracket matches will be best 2/3 to 11 win by 2 in the Main Draw and 1 game to 15 win by 2 in the Secondary Draw. Gold Medal matches will be best 2/3 to 11 win by 2 with the Tiebreaker Game being 1 game to 15 win by 2. Bronze Medal matches will be 1 game to 15 win by 2. Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust the Match Format as needed.

Round Robin bracket matches will be either best 2/3 to 11 win by 2 or 1 game to 15 win by 2. Medals in the Round Robin brackets will be determined based on play results. Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust the Match Format as needed.

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 teams in each bracket.
