Join the Chaos and sign up for the first-ever Wild Monkeys Winter Classic hosted by Georgia Pickleball Association, US Senior Pickleball and Spalding County Pickleball Association in partnership with GA-based company Wild Monkeys Pickleball.

In addition to competitive pickleball at this world-class pickleball facility, the Wild Monkeys Pickleball team will have prizes, raffles and more. And try your hand at the Wild Monkeys Skills Challenge for a chance to win huge prizes (unlimited free entries for fun / practice; $10 for two attempts to compete for prizes).

The Wild Monkeys Winter Classic is sanctioned by both the Georgia Pickleball Association and US Senior Pickleball. Registration is $55 and includes one event, each additional event is $10. USSP/SSIPA members will receive a $10 discount. GPA member will also receive a $10 discount

The tournament will limit registration to 300 players, or when the tournament director deems the day’s events are full.

Brackets/Events will be round robin with pool play for events with 8 or more teams, single elimination brackets to follow. Players are guaranteed 3 matches per event. More play for your money.

Registration fee is $55 and includes two events. Participants may play in up to 2 events as long as the events take place on different days.

The schedule is as follows:

Saturday December 3rd Men's & Women's Doubles and Men's & Women's Singles

Sunday October 4th Mixed Doubles.

Competition each day will begin as early as 8:00 AM. Specific start times for each event will be posted and emailed to players several days prior to the event.

Format is Round Robin. Your team will play one match against every other team in your bracket.

Brackets of 3 teams: Double Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 15, win by 1.

Brackets of 4 teams: Round Robin for seeding following by seeded single elimination tournament with semi-finals and finals are 2 out of 3 games to 11.

Brackets of 5 teams: Each match will be one game to 11, win by 1. Medal matches are 2 out of 3 games to 11.

Brackets of 6 and 7 teams: Each match will be one game to 11, win by 1. Medal matches are 2 out of 3 games to 11 or 15.

Brackets of more than 8 teams may be split into pools.

As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to combine brackets as needed if brackets do not fill. If brackets are combined to create playable brackets, awards may be based on the original division and not the combined bracket. Brackets will be combined by age if possible to avoid combining skills. Tournament management also reserves the right to convert brackets to double elimination if necessary.

Skills levels include 2.5 (Recreational),3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5

Age groups are 18+, 35+, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player (or higher) and the age group of the younger player. Age is calculated as of 12/31/2022.

RATINGS

- Georgia Pickleball Association ratings will be used.

- For new players with no rating, the PickleballBrackets.com self rating will be used.

- Players who have official USAPA UTPR ratings but NO PickleballBrackets.com rating, MUST self rate using

their UTPR rating.

-Players with a UTPR that is higher than their Georgia Pickleball Association calculated tournament rating may be moved to the higher level at the discretion of the tournament director.

You may register and identify your partner or request "Need partner". Your partner must register within five days of your registration or the team will be moved to the wait list. When the identified partner registers after the five day grace period, the team will automatically move from the wait list back to the active list if there is a slot available and both teams have paid. If a player needs a partner, the team will automatically move from the wait list to the active list once a partner is identified, registers, and both players have paid if there is an available slot to move to. NOTE: Your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until your partner has registered and all fees have been paid in full.

There are no referees. Matches are self-monitored. If a referee is requested, we will do our best to provide one.

USSP has a points system to award prizes to the top finishers each year (USSP members only). In the past, prizes with a retail value of $20,000 were awarded to the top 10 point winners in each age group for both men and women on an annual cycle. In 2022, the prize points will begin in February and run through the end of December.

No cash will be awarded.

Georgia Pickleball Association (GPA) members receive a $10 discount on registration for this event and all other GPA sanctioned tournaments. The GPA registration fee is an annual $25 fee. GPA will maintain GPA ratings and GPA rankings for all players. GPA strongly encourages all players to also become members of USA Pickleball. This tournament counts toward qualification for the 2023 GPA State Tournament. For players that are not already GPA members, the GPA membership fee can be paid at gapickleball.com prior to registering or during the registration process. Players can check their ratings at PickleballBrackets.com. Simply go to club section, then click on Georgia Pickleball Association.

Refunds will be available up to 2 weeks before the tournament registration closing. All refunds will be charged a $15 processing fee. Emergency refunds will be issued based on documentation and tournament director approval.

This is an outdoor tournament. There will be no refunds for weather related cancellations.
