Tournament Description
Welcome to the "Picklers Against Cancer" Tourney at Bay Club Broadway Tennis and Pickleball in Burlingame, CA.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in recognition, our next tourney on October 28th and 29th will be a benefit for Bay Area Cancer Connections. Link to Bay Area Cancer Connections website.
BACC is a non-profit organization (EIN: 77-0417605) locally based in San Mateo that supports anyone affected by breast or ovarian cancer with personalized services that inform and empower.
BACC's charity score with Charity Navigator is 99%, earning it a Four-Star rating.

A portion of the proceeds from this tourney will benefit BACC.
We are seeking "Donor Angels," those who like to participate as a non-player in this fundraising tourney. There are three ways that you can be a Donor Angel:
Sponsor a Player: For each game win that a player that you sponsor accumulates, you can make a pledge (minimum $3 per win) for his/her victories. So if your sponsored player plays 3 matches and he/she wins 5 games, with a pledge of $3, your donation will be $15 to BACC.
In addition, the player that collects the highest dollar amount of sponsorship will receive a new Engage paddle of their choice (value up to $260). Pledge totals will be combined for the Mixed and Mens/Womens doubles events for each player.
Sponsor the Tourney: Make a pledge for the total number of participants for our tourney (minimum 25¢). So if we have 100 registered players participating in our tourney, and you made a pledge of 25¢, your donation to BACC will be $25.
All proceeds from Donor Angels will be forwarded to BACC. Pledges must be paid by October 31st, 2023 to qualify towards a player's total.
If you want to keep it simple, you can make a donation for a fixed amount directly to BACC using the following link:
Make a direct donation to Bay Area Cancer Connections.
(comment on the 2nd donation page that your donation is from the Bay Club tourney).

Round Robin results will be determined following the USA Pickleball rule book:
12.C.3. Round Robin. All players or teams play each other. Games may use any of the approved tournament scoring options. (See Rule 12.B.) The winner is determined based on number of matches won. If two or more teams are tied:
12.C.3.a. First tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.
12.C.3.b. Second tie-breaker: point differential of all games played. (e.g., Team A won Match 1 11-8, 11-4, so they would have a point differential of +10. Team A then wins the second match 11-9, 2-11, 11-6. For this round, they would have a point differential of -2. This would give them a total for the day of +8.)
12.C.3.c. Third tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.
12.C.3.d. Fourth tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team. (e.g., If the teams are tied for second, use point differentials against the first-place team.)
Combined Brackets:
If brackets are combined, they will be combined by skill level first, then age.
Medals will only be awarded to the top 3 finishers in a combined skill/age bracket, not to the individual skill/age bracket.
