Tournament Details:
We are going to have two streams, Round Robin (RR) Play and Tournament Play. You may also select a third option "both" where you can play in RR as well as the tournament. Please note, this option is dependent on available space. Our desire is to allow for as many participants as possible, so in the event that we fill registration numbers, we may adapt the format to a single play option (only tournament or round robin, not both). If this occurs, anyone who signed up for both streams will be given a refund for the difference.
Individual Round Robin Play provides players an opportunity to participate for two hours of entertaining, organized play. Players sign up individually and are randomly assigned a different partner and opponents for each match, giving the freedom to meet lots of new people in a fun environment. A schedule of games is provided and each match will be 15 minutes in length. Round Robin categories are offered for each rating level from new players, up to and including 4.0+, which means players will compete with others at a similar skill and experience level. For players new to pickleball, we will offer a 15 minute learn-to-play info session at the start of your scheduled block, so no experience is required to participate, enjoy, and support this great cause!
Tournament Play will be a competitive skill event broken into 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+ skill levels with partnerships of two people. Depending on the registration numbers, categories may be combined or expanded to provide for the best experience within this fundraising event. We will assist in helping single players find a partner if desired, however we cannot guarantee the availability of others. The typical basic tournament configuration is Double Elimination, however, Round Robins may be utilized within this format to facilitate competition opportunities and enjoyment for all. Each partner will be responsible to complete their own individual registration.
