Winter is waning as spring is preparing to return! Along with longer days and warmer weather, spring also signifies the return of our little ladybug friends to the outdoors, so this spring The Ladybug Classic returns outdoors at Pouncey Tract Park!

Debuting in 2022 at the CTC Pickleball Courts in Chesterfield County, returning in 2023 at The Springs Recreation Center in Highland Springs and going indoors in 2024 at Performance Pickleball RVA in Henrico, The Ladybug Classic takes its 4th rendition to its 4th venue in 4 years at Pouncey Tract Park in Henrico!

We've partnered with Atlantic Union Bank to bring you the Atlantic Union Bank Performance Series, a series of major tournaments run by Performance Pickleball at both indoor and outdoor venues throughout the year.

Participate, play and place on the podium in each of the Atlantic Union Bank Performance Series tournaments and earn Atlantic Union Bank Challenge standings points! We will award money/cash prizes to the top points standings finishers at the end of the year at the Atlantic Union Bank Open. Are you up to the Challenge?

This tournament will be held on the newly-constructed courts at Pouncey Tract Park in Henrico, VA. There will be Skill & Age Divisions in Men's and Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles in addition to a Junior/Youth Coed Division.

Junior/Youth, 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+

3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, Open, 40+ Open

The tournament will also feature Open Divisions within each of the Men's, Women's and Mixed Doubles events with Prize Money awarded to the Top 3 teams/players in each Open Division event. Medal matches in the Open Divisions will be livestreamed and broadcasted each day on the Performance Pickleball YouTube page.

Matches will take place on 12 brand-new dedicated outdoor pickleball courts including two covered Grandstand Center Courts. Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 teams/players in each bracket.

The $55 registration fee is per player and includes a free tournament t-shirt and other tournament sponsor giveaways. Please be sure to indicate your shirt size during the registration process. Late or last-minute registrants may not be guaranteed a t-shirt and/or desired shirt size, so be sure to sign up early!

Event fees are $15 per event for all Skill & Age events and $30 per event for all Open Division events. There will also be a PB/PT non-refundable service fee of $5 per event or a maximum of $10 when registering for 2 or more events.

For doubles events, priority will be given to teams that have both partners registered. Teams with only one partner registered and teams with no designated partner will be waitlisted. To secure your spot in a doubles bracket, please make sure that both you and your partner are registered.

This is a non-sanctioned tournament, but we will be following USAP 2025 rules.

All Skill & Age brackets will be Round Robin with a Single Elimination bracket round and/or Medal matches to be played immediately following the completion of Round Robin play.

Round Robin matches will be either best 2/3 games to 11 win by 2 or 1 game to 15 win by 2 or 1 game to 11 win by 2 depending on the size of the bracket and/or pools. Gold Medal matches will be best 2/3 games to 11 win by 2. Bronze Medal matches will be best 2/3 games to 11 win by 2 or 1 game to 15 win by 2.

Open Division brackets will be Double Elimination. Double Elimination bracket matches will be best 2/3 games to 11 win by 2 in the Winners' Bracket and 1 game to 15 win by 2 in the Consolation Bracket. Teams/Players in the Consolation Bracket will have a chance to advance back into the medal rounds. Gold Medal matches will be best 2/3 games to 11 win by 2 with a Tiebreaker match, if necessary, being 1 game to 15 win by 2. Bronze Medal matches will be 1 game to 15 win by 2.

The Junior/Youth Division will be a Coed Doubles Scramble format, meaning that players register and sign up individually and will be mixed and paired up with other players for the tournament. Coed doubles teams may consist of any combination of boys, girls or mixed pairings.

Minimum age for participation is 10 and maximum age is 17; for any ages under 10, please contact us for approval. If there are enough sign-ups, we may be able to split the division further into different age and/or skill groups. No additional event fees for the Junior/Youth Division plus an additional $15 discount on registration!

The rating used for this tournament will be DUPR and all match scores and results will be automatically entered into DUPR. Please be sure to connect your DUPR account to your Pickleball.com account to ensure reporting accuracy.

Skill & Age groups may be combined at the discretion of the Tournament Director to create brackets as needed based on the number of registered teams/players. The Tournament Director also reserves the right to adjust the bracket and match formats as necessary.

The Cancellation Deadline is Friday 4/4/25. Full refunds less the PB/PT non-refundable service fees will be given through this date. After this date, there will be no refunds for cancellations or withdrawals. For any extenuating circumstances or situations, please contact the Tournament Director for approval.

Prize Money Pool up to $10,000! Prize Money will be awarded to the Top 3 teams/players in each of the Open Division events. Payout amounts and distribution will be based upon final bracket sizes.

This is an outdoor tournament with a contingency backup indoor rain site at Performance Pickleball RVA. We will keep everyone posted regarding any changes, delays or cancellations due to weather. We will do our best to get in as much of the tournament as possible if there are any delays caused by weather.
