Welcome to the 2025 Winter Classic Pickleball Tournament

The Winter Classic takes place in the beautiful Wyomia Tyus Olympic Park in Spalding County Georgia. The pickleball facility is a world class 18 court venue with plenty of shade structures, open greenspace for personal tents, clean restrooms, and plenty of food options from our concession stand.

Please Note - Spalding County Parks Ordinance regarding pets: Pets MUST be maintained on a leash when attending park events. Pets cannot come within 50 feet of concession stands or spectator seating areas during park events. Spalding County Sheriff's Deputies will be enforcing this ordinance during this event.

The following is intended to acquaint you with the format, rules, and other particulars of this tournament:

Saturday, November 8: Men's and Women's Doubles

Sunday, November 9: Mixed Doubles

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Format of play will be round robin. Medal rounds may follow the round robin play, depending on the size of the bracket.

As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to combine brackets as needed if brackets do not fill. If brackets are combined to create playable brackets, awards will be based on the original division and not the combined bracket. Brackets will be combined by age if possible to avoid combining skills.

FOOD, BEVERAGES AND MORE

The Concession Stand will be open all hours of the tournament:

• A variety of food a beverage items including soft drinks, water, sports drinks, energy bars, candy, chips, etc will be available for purchase.

• Near the noon hour, other substantial food selections will be made available.

• Ice is available if requested.

Once registration closes, the tournament staff will move up players whose DUPR ratings have changed since registering for this tournament. Players with DUPR reliability rating of 50 or lower may appeal their current rating.

The Southern Pickleball Association adheres to the guidelines set forth in the USA Pickleball Rulebook. All gameplay, officiating, and judgment decisions during our events are based on these rules to ensure consistency and fairness for all players.

We encourage all participants to familiarize themselves with the USA Pickleball Rulebook to understand the standards and expectations that govern our games. In addition, the Southern Pickleball Association allows paddles that are on the official USA Pickleball paddle list. It is the player's responsibility to make sure their paddle is currently approved by USA Pickleball for tournament play. https://equipment.usapickleball.org/paddle-list/

Withdraw deadline is October 19 at midnight. Players may withdraw prior to midnight on October 19 for any reason and receive a refund minus a $20 administrative fee. After October 19 there are no refunds for any reason unless a player has purchased weather and injury tournament insurance. This is an indoor tournament. Weather and Tournament Insurance covers a player if the tournament is canceled due to weather or if a player or a player's partner must withdraw due to injury. Documentation might be required. Additionally, player registration fees may not be transferred to other players.
