Thank you for your interest in the 1st ever Genesee County Pickleball Open: Pickleball for Water Charity Tournament & Open Play! Your participation is greatly appreciated, and we are excited to have you join us for this special event held in conjunction with the 9th Annual Flint Water Festival x FIM Holiday Celebration.

Event Details:

Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024

Time: 9 AM – 12 PM & 6 – 10 PM

Location: General Motors’ Durant-Dort Factory One Parking Lot | 303 W. Water St., Flint, MI 48503

As a valued participant, you are contributing to a great cause. Proceeds from this event will support RICH Kids Inc., a local charity dedicated to leveling the playing field and making a positive impact in our community.

Important Information: As a registered participant, here are a few important details to help you prepare for the event:

1. Check-In: Please check in at the registration table upon arrival, located in the parking lot at General Motors' Durant-Dort Factory One - 303 W. Water St., Flint, MI 48503.

• Tournament Players: The registration table will be open from 8 - 9 AM and 5 – 6 PM. There you will receive your match times and court assignments.

• Courtside Seat Spectators: You can arrive any time between 9 AM - 12 PM and 6 - 10 PM.

• Open Play Participants: You can check-in any time between 9 AM - 12 PM and 6 - 10 PM.

2. Tournament Information:

• Sport courts: Two courts will be available for tournament play from 9 AM - 12 PM and 6 - 10 PM.

• Warm-Up: Both courts will be available for warm-up from 8 - 9 AM and 5 - 6 PM.

• Tournament Start: The tournament will begin promptly at 9 AM and 6 PM. Please be ready at your assigned court at least 10 minutes before your match.

• Match Format: Matches will follow a double elimination format with come around to the finals. Games to 11 win by 2, with Gold and Bronze trophy matches playing to 15 win by 2.

3. Open Play Information:

• Time: Open Play will be available from 9 AM - 12 PM and 6 - 10 PM on the parking lot marked pickleball

courts.

• Details: Participants and attendees are welcome to enjoy casual games during this time. Please be courteous and share the court time with others.

• Open Play Rules:

1. Each point begins with a serve.

2. Your serve must be underhand.

3. You cannot volley while standing in the kitchen.

4. You can hit groundstrokes in the kitchen.

5. You only win point on your serve.

6. Both partners serve in a turn.

Reminders:

• Parking: There will be parking available for participants and attendees at the Riverfront parking garage located at 302 Beach St., Flint, MI 48502.

• Refreshments: Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event.

• Raffle: Festival T-Shirts & Paddles

• Entertainment: Enjoy live music and entertainment provided by the Flint Institute of Music & RICH Kids Inc, creating a festive atmosphere for all attendees. Featuring Marshall Charloff & the Purple xPeRIeNCE - Officially Licensed by the Prince Estate, Collector Car Auction & Car Show, Soak City Splash Park, Fireworks, and more!

Refund Policy for Pickleball for Water Charity Tournament

Thank you for your support of our Pickleball for Water Charity Tournament & Open Play. Your participation and donations help us make a positive impact in our community. Please review our refund policy outlined below:

Donations Are Non-Refundable: All donations made towards the Pickleball for Water Charity Tournament & Open Play are considered non-refundable. This includes registration fees, sponsorship contributions, and any other monetary donations.

Event Cancellation: In the event that the tournament is canceled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., inclement weather, venue unavailability, etc.), we will make every effort to notify participants promptly. If the event is canceled, donations will not be refunded but may be considered as contributions towards the charitable cause.

Participant Cancellation: If a participant is unable to attend the tournament after making a donation, the donation will still be considered non-refundable. We appreciate your understanding and encourage participants to inform us as soon as possible if they are unable to attend.

Exceptional Circumstances: We understand that certain exceptional circumstances may arise (e.g., medical emergencies, unavoidable conflicts) that prevent participation. In such cases, please contact us directly to discuss the situation.

Acknowledgment: By participating in our Pickleball for Water Charity Tournament & Open Play and making a donation, you acknowledge and agree to our refund policy.

We are thrilled to announce the prize distribution for the upcoming charity pickleball tournament. Your participation and dedication contribute immensely to the success of our event and cause. Please find below the details of the prizes and trophies:

Doubles Team Prize: The winning doubles team of the Pickleball for Water Charity Tournament will receive a cash prize of $150 and a trophy. This prize is awarded to the doubles champions in recognition of their exceptional performance and teamwork throughout the tournament. There will be two of these events to compete in ($300 worth of total prize money given out throughout the day).

Trophies for Winners: In addition to the cash prizes, the winning doubles team will receive a prestigious trophy as a token of their achievement and success in the tournament.

The combination of prize money and trophies aims to celebrate and honor the achievements of our top-performing participants. We are excited to witness thrilling matches and crown deserving champions for an important cause.
