This tournament is being held in celebration of National Pickleball Day, August 8!
This day celebrates and raises national awareness to the sport of pickleball. Pickleball is currently being played in all 50 states. It is a fun, social and simple game that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong into one. It can be played at any age, from beginner to pro level. Pickleball began in 1965 as a way for the entire family to play a game together. The sport is played by using paddles and a plastic ball on hard surface courts the same size as badminton and can be played either indoors or outdoors. The sport is currently supported by 36 million players!
We wish you Happy National Pickleball Day!

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
We are planning on the event to be a round robin format whereby all players are guaranteed at least 3 matches win or lose. Round robin event formats will either be double round robins (where each team/player plays each other twice), a true robin (where each player plays each other once), or a split pools group round robin (where qualifiers advance to a playoff bracket). Round robin formats are determined by the number of teams/players in each event.
REGISTERING FOR MULTIPLE EVENTS:
Players may only register for one event per day (3 events total for the tournament). Players are responsible for making sure they adhere to this. If the tournament director happens to see a violation in registration that team/player will be withdrawn from one of the events.
PAYING AND REGISTERING:
Both players need to pay their registration fee of $65 and the event fees for which they select. If there is a red ghost next to your name or your partner's name that means they have not paid the full amount and still need to properly register. If there is a red ghost next to your name after registration closes on 7/29/23 you will be moved to the waitlist. Having a complete registration for teams and players is our primary form of confirmation that you and your teammate are playing in the event.
WITDRAWING or BEING WITHDRAWN:
If you need to withdraw for any reason before the registration closes please do so yourself. If you need to withdraw after registration closes then please email the tournament director at paragonpickleball@gmail.com. If we aren't notified via email we assume you're coming to the event.
EVENT START TIMES:
Start times will be posted on Wednesday 8/2/23. Please wait to email the tournament director regarding those until they are posted.
PADDLE VERIFICATION:
Tournament paddles used during competition MUST be on the approved list to be used in a sanctioned tournament. It is the players responsibility to look up their paddles. Please reference the link below.
