Ohio Social Sports is proud to announce its inaugural Ohio Senior Pickleball Classic in partnership with US Senior Pickleball! This will be the first-ever USA Senior Pickleball in the state of Ohio!

Join us from August 9-11 at the esteemed Lakewood Racquet Club in Lexington, OH, boasting a dozen classic concrete indoor courts. Nestled conveniently between Cleveland and Columbus, this event is set to attract players of various levels from the Heartland and beyond.

This self-rated, skill-based, round-robin tournament is open to all senior pickleball enthusiasts. Unsure of your level? Registration Tiers:

Early registration: $40 until April 30

Regular registration: $50 until July 21

Late registration: $60 until August 5

Each event will cost $20 per player.

For example, if you're registering on April 29th for 2 events, your cost will be $40 + $20 + $20.

Friday, August 9 - Men's & Women's Skinny Singles - 7 PM

Saturday, August 10 - Mixed Doubles - 9 AM, 1 PM, 5 PM

Sunday, August 11 - Men's & Women's Doubles - 9 AM, 1 PM, 5 PM

Skill Groups:

Beginners (3.0 and below)

Intermediate (3.5)

Advanced (4.0)

Expert (4.5+)

Schedule:

Event times will be posted by the day's end on August 7. Friday's event will begin at 7p. Saturday and Sunday's events are organized in waves (9a, 1p, and 5p), with brackets assigned based on registrations. Player check-in and warm-ups begin one hour before the event starts.

Service animals are permitted.

Amenities:

Complimentary food and drinks will be provided throughout the event.

Tournament Format:

All events feature a round-robin format, ensuring each player competes against others in their group or subgroup. Depending on time, we will aim to have the top 2-4 seeded teams per event advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket.

Planned Format:

All games will be played to 11, win by 1.

The Tournament Director reserves the right to combine skill/age brackets based on team numbers.

Registration Details:

You can register and identify your partner or request a partner. Selecting "Need partner" indicates your availability, though finding a partner remains your responsibility. No referees are provided; matches are self-monitored.

Reservation of Right: Ohio Social Sports retains the right to refuse service at any juncture. Please be aware that a daily player limit may necessitate the abrupt cessation of registration for specific events or the entire day without prior notice.

Join USSP: To become a member of US Senior Pickleball (USSP), visit USSeniorPickleball.com. Membership is available at an annual cost of $20, with multi-year payment discounts accessible.

Membership Benefit: USSP members enjoy a $10 discount off the standard registration fee for the Ohio Senior Pickleball Classic.

Points System and Prizes: USSP operates a points system to recognize and reward top performers each year. Historically, prizes with a retail value of $20,000 were granted to the top 10 point winners in each age group for both men and women on an annual cycle. Starting in 2024, the prize points will accrue from February through the end of December.

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY:

Refunds will be available up to 2 weeks before the tournament registration closing.

All refunds will be charged a $20 processing fee.

Your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until your partner has registered and all fees have been paid in full.

ALL REFUNDS will be sent within 14 days after the tournament is completed.

All tournament courts will be housed indoors and equipped with climate control. This ensures a seamless and weather-resistant Ohio Senior Pickleball Classic, unaffected by external weather conditions. We look forward to providing a comfortable and reliable environment for all participants.
