Welcome to the 1st ANNUAL LOUDOUN COUNTY PICKLEBALL CLASSIC, hosted by the Independence High School Band. Our Marching Band and Color Guard are proud to be the 2023 Virginia State Champions and ranked #2 in the Mid-Atlantic. We are also the only school in Virginia to achieve the highest rating across all four concert bands. All of the proceeds will directly benefit our band program.

FORMAT:

** round robin guaranteed 4 games to bracket play **

▪️Events with 4 teams: all teams will play each other in a round-robin format playing 2 out of 3 games with games being played to 11 points win by 2.

▪️Events with 5-6 teams: all teams will play each other for one game to 15 points win by 2. The top 4 teams after pool play will advance to the medal round of play. The top two teams will play for Gold/Silver in a one-game to 15-point win by 2. The teams placing 3rd and 4th after pool play will play one game to 15 points and win by 2 for Bronze.

▪️Events with 7 teams: all teams will play each other for one game to 11 points win by 2. The top 4 teams after pool play will advance to the medal round of play. The top two teams will play for Gold/Silver in a one-game to 15-point win by 2. The teams placing 3rd and 4th after pool play will play one game to 15 points and win by 2 for Bronze.

▪️Events with 8-12 teams: teams will be divided into two pools. All teams will play each other in their pool for one game to 15 points win by 2. The top 2 teams from each pool will advance to the medal round of play. The top team from Pool A will play the second-place team from Pool B and the top team from Pool B will play the second-place team from Pool A in a one-game to 15 points win by 2. The winning teams will play each other for Gold/Silver in a one-game to 15-point win by 2. The other two teams will play one game to 15 points and win by 2 for Bronze.

REGISTRATION:

STEP 1️⃣: Create an account at pickleballbrackets.com if you do not already have one.

Each player must have their own player account set up on pickleballbrackets.com PRIOR to registering in order to select your partner. Registration is not complete until BOTH PLAYERS HAVE REGISTERED SEPARATELY.

STEP 2️⃣: Once registered in pickleballbrackets.com, you will be auto-directed to the Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) website for payment. On the PRCS website, select the MAIN REGISTRATION and EVENT(S) you wish to participate in and checkout to submit your payment. Create a PRCS account if you do not already have one.

▪️For mens, womens and mixed 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0, MAIN REGISTRATION is a prerequisite for each skill division.

▪️For the mixed 2.0-3.0 division, the MAIN REGISTRATION fee will be waived and is not required.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the first time PRCS has granted use of the pickleball courts for a fundraising event so we appreciate your patience in the registration and payment process.

PickleballBrackets.com has modified their pricing, and is now charging a mandatory, non-refundable SERVICE FEE to participants - $5 for 1 event, $10 for 2 or more events.

* Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust and/or combine brackets and/or move players into the appropriate division based on skill level. If partners skill levels are not equal, players are expected to play the skill level of the higher rated player.

SPECIAL NOTICE:

Do not leave the event without checking to see if you are in or out of the tournament! This is particularly a problem in POOL PLAY, as there is an issue in the software that has not been modified to address the NEW rule on how to determine tie-breaking in a 3-team tie. The software is currently INCORRECT in how it is calculated, and tournament workers must MANUALLY advance players from POOL PLAY to BRACKET PLAY in this 3-way tie situation. IF YOU LEAVE WITHOUT CHECKING, and you are subsequently ADDED to the bracket, WE WILL NOT wait for you to return, but forfeit your match. Thank you for your understanding!

Cancellations will be accepted up to May 18, subject to a $25 handling charge.

No refunds after the registration closes for any reason.

Pickleballbrackets.com fee of $5 per event is nonrefundable.

To Withdraw: If you need to cancel your registration, registrants must withdraw by logging into their PickleballBrackets.com account and selecting the event(s) to withdraw from. Please do not write an email to the Tournament Director to withdraw unless it is less than 2 weeks prior to event.

In case of inclement weather, rain date will be Sun, June 2nd.

Players will be notified by 7:00 AM the day of the event if rain date is needed.
