The Leduc 55Plus Fundraiser Pickleball Tournament is an effort to assist the Leduc 55Plus Games Organizing Committee raise funds to host the Alberta 55Plus Summer Games on August 21-24, 2025, and in particular the pickleball event at the Leduc Games.

This tournament is open to all Alberta 55Plus members in good standing. Alberta 55Plus membership is also required to participate in the Leduc 55Plus Games and in the 2025 spring qualifying tournaments held by each of the 8 Zones that make up Alberta 55Plus.

NON - ALBERTA 55PLUS MEMBERS

If you wish to participate in the event and not take part in the qualification process for the Alberta 55Plus Games, YOU CAN STILL PARTICIPATE in this tournament, but you will be required to sign a waiver holding harmless the organizers of the tournament in the event of injury.

This tournament is an open event and therefore partners do NOT need to be from the same Zone affiliation to team up, however this tournament will be an excellent opportunity for Zone qualified teams to compete together in preparation for the Alberta 55Plus Summer Games.

TOURNAMENT DETAILS:

The tournament will follow a round robin format followed by a medal round.

All matches will be officiated.

Mixed Doubles - Saturday June 7, 2025

Men's Doubles/Women's Doubles - Sunday June 8, 2025

4 Skill Levels - 2.5(2.0-2.99), 3.0(3.0-3.49), 3.5(3.5-3.99), and 4.0 and Above

REGISTRATION DATES

Registration opens on March 24, 2025 at 8:00pm, and will remain open until either the maximum registration of 320 is reached or May 15, 2025 at 8:00pm.

COST:

Registration - $70 INCLUDES one event, additional event registration is $30. Please note there is a Pickleball Tournaments processing fee that will be added at the time of checkout.

Many other events are going on near the pickleball courts and evening social activities are being planned.

Leduc 55Plus has secured a block of rooms and are working on other hotels to offer discounts to our members. We are also working to secure some camping spot for those participants in RVs.

Plan to attend and support Leduc 55Plus Summer Games. It is sure to be an outstanding event!

The tournament will be held at the Leading Edge Pickleball Facility in the William E. Lede Park in Leduc, Alberta. This facility opened in the spring of 2024 is home to 12 permanent pickleball courts and will be the venue for the Alberta 55Plus Summer Games in August.

Practice Courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis as these are the Leduc public pickleball courts. Please respect the guidelines for court use at the facility.

Pickleball DUPR Ratings will be used to assign skills levels. Participants may select to play in a DUPR rated group at their DUPR level or one(0.5) skill level above their current DUPR level. For example, if your DUPR rating is 3.37, you may play in the 3.0-3.49 skill level, or in the 3.5-3.99 skill level. Participants must ensure they have created a DUPR account and either merge their history from Pickleball Brackets, or self-rate at the appropriate skill level. Pickleball Canada has a self-rating checklist on the Pickleball Canada website under the Ratings tab and sub-tab "2 Digit Ratings".

The deadline for withdrawal from the tournament is May 15, 2025 at 8:00pm. No refunds for any reason after that date. No Exceptions!

Withdrawals prior to the deadline are subject to a $15 administration fee plus PT Service Fees.
