2023 LAST FRONTIER OPEN PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT

Welcome Last Frontier players! We are excited to have you compete at this fantastic tournament! Thank you, sincerely, for being a part of the Last Frontier experience! The following is helpful information to get you ready for the tournament:
GENERAL INFORMATION
-O'Malley Sports Complex: We will be using up to 12 indoor with taped court lines and temp nets.
Ball – ONIX Fuse Indoor Pickleball Orange
-Gatorade, water, and snacks will be provided. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages throughout each day. Sat/Sun, the Nunaka Little League will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs from 11-4.
-There is limited bench/bleacher seating outside of playing area between basketball courts 2 & 3 and trampoline section. There are single benches against walls at the far side basketball court 1 bathroom.
-Please feel free to bring your own foldable chairs which are permitted near bathrooms and open area lockers as well as bleacher area.
-Player bags will not be allowed on the courts. Only towels and drink containers are allowed and can be placed up against the walls.
-If you registered after May 13, you will NOT receive a t-shirt. You can purchase one at cost: Short Sleeve for $15. Other vendors may be there throughout the weekend.
-It is the players responsibility to be on time and prepared to play. If you are delayed or need to cancel for any reason, please contact the Tournament Director as soon as possible.
VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are requested for each day and in the following areas:
Check-in - Check people into the event, hand out any necessary items as needed.
Court Monitor - Watch the courts to ensure players who are playing should be there. Answer questions from players, look for matches that may require an official due to issues on the court.
General Helper - An overall helper wherever needed.
Score Table - Enter scores as they come in, and distribute new matches to players, and give medals.

TOURNAMENT OPERATIONS
Players will be responsible for keeping score, calling faults, and completing the match results sheet for each match.
All bracket match sheets will be preprinted and provided to the bracket group on a clipboard in advance of play beginning. Upon match completion, the scoresheet with clipboard will be turned in to the desk/court operations table or to a court monitor. Please keep buckets/bins with two pickleballs, two pencils at each designated court before you bring the scoresheet & clipboard back to desk/court ops. You'll get called back out to play in a timely sequence and when the next court is available.
If there is a rules question or a play disagreement, if needed please take your time-out accordingly and get assistance from the Tournament Director. TD will likely be at the Desk/Court ops table.
Medals will be presented as soon as possible after a bracket is completed, please be patient. Pictures will be uploaded to the Victory Road Pickleball Facebook and Anchorage Pickleball Club FB site for your viewing pleasures after tournament completion. If recorded, videos of Gold/Silver matches will be uploaded as well. When you go to the Facebook site and search for Victory Road Pickleball, answer a few questions and you'll be approved as a member.
Attention DUPR Addicts: Applicable to Victory Road Pickleball (VRP) tournaments, (such as the Last Frontier Open PBT), players should be a member of the newly created DUPR Victory Road Pickleball (VRP) Club first before requesting assistance. While participating at the tournament, a good plan would be for players to upload his/her match results into DUPR soon after each match completion. One team member from each team should be present while uploading results and validating results. If several attempts to reach your opponent for validation fail, you may reach out to the VRP Tournament Director for assistance. We will try to have a laptop available for you to upload match results under the DUPR Victory Pickleball Club. Normally, match results are automatically uploaded if we were to use DUPR's Tournament Management Software. In future plans….

The schedule for start times for bracket play for each day will be published on the tournament listing on pickleballbrackets.com website for Last Frontier Open PBT. Go to the tournament listing and click “Start times”. To see your bracket grouping click the “Players Registered”, then click “Show all players”. Please check the tournament website DAILY AND FREQUENTLY as times may be adjusted due to various reasons.
