Welcome to the First-Ever KitsFest Pickleball Tournament!
KitsFest, Vancouver's #1 Sports & Arts Beach Festival, is celebrating 17 years of community, diversity, and active living this August, 2025! This year, for the first time, KitsFest is adding pickleball to its lineup of sports and celebrations! Come join us for a fun and exciting tournament!

π Events: Levels 2.5 to 4.0 Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles & Mixed Doubles (Round Robin Format)

Qualifying: Round Robin
Finals: Medal Round
COST - Registration fee $60 plus $15 per event.
DUPR Tournament Registration
This is a DUPR-sanctioned tournament.
β If you donβt have a DUPR account, sign up at DUPR.com and link it to your profile on Pickleball.com.
β If you are new to both systems and asked to enter a Self-Rating, choose a level that accurately reflects your past tournament or league play.
π¨ Note: Pickleball Brackets ratings are no longer supported. All tournaments using Pickleball Brackets, including this one, will use DUPR ratings.
Skill Level Guidelines
At least one team member must be rated at the skill level entered.
The other partner must be within 0.5 rating difference.
Players cannot play below their rated skill level.
Game Guarantee

Players are guaranteed a minimum of 4 games.

Medal round format will be dependent on registration numbers.

All Skill Levels
Round Robin with Playoffs:
4 teams: Single Round Robin β Playoffs for top 3 teams.
5 teams: Single Round Robin β Playoffs for top 3 teams.
6 teams: Single Round Robin β Playoffs for top 3 teams.
7 teams: Single Round Robin β Playoffs for top 3 teams.
8 teams: 2 pools of 4 β Single Round Robin β Playoffs for top 3 teams from each pool.
Pool Play: 1 game to 11, win by 2
Finals: 1 game to 15, win by 2
Bronze Medal Match: 1 game to 15, win by 2
Gold Medal Match: Best 2 of 3 games to 11, win by 2
π¨ Events may be combined if there are fewer than 4 teams in Doubles. Tournament organizers reserve the right to adjust events based on skill or age to ensure the best playing experience.
π¨ Brackets/Pools will be seeded based on DUPR Rating.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to place players in the Skill Group based on their current UTPR/USAPA/PCO rating skill groups based on registration (aka AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION). The Tournament Committee has the right to make changes to the tournament, combine divisions, or change and alter the format depending on the number of registrations received.
PAYMENT & PARTNER POLICY
To be confirmed in the tournament, BOTH partners must:

Be fully paid.

Have a registered and paid partner.
π¨ Players who are unpaid and/or without a registered partner may be moved to a waitlist if their division fills up with fully registered and paid teams.
What does COMPLETE registration mean?

If your partner does not register within 5 days of your registration, you will be moved to the waitlist.
Your spot in the main event will not be held.
If you and your partner register and pay later (and spots are still available), you will be moved back to the main event.
If the event fills up in the meantime, you will remain on the waitlist until a spot opens.
ACTION REQUIRED - In your PLAYER PROFILE check "Receive in game text messages". Cell Carrier should be selected. This is how you will receive your game notifications and court assignments
PARTNER REPLACEMENT POLICY
If a player loses a partner after registration closes:
The replacement must already be registered in the tournament.
The new partner must be in the same skill/age group as the original partner.
Players can play down in age and up in skill.
Replacements must be confirmed by 6:00 PM the day before the scheduled event.

Refund Policy
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Cancellation Deadline: July 1, 2025 @ 9:00 PM
β No refunds will be issued after this deadline, regardless of the reason.
If you withdraw before the cancellation deadline, you will receive a full refund minus a $15 withdrawal fee.
No refunds will be given after the cancellation deadline.
WEATHER & EVENT CANCELLATION
The tournament may be canceled due to:
Inclement weather
Health concerns (e.g., COVID)
Other unforeseen circumstances
This is an outdoor tournament. In the event of inclement weather, every effort will be made to complete matches. However, no refunds or credits will be issued due to weather-related disruptions.
Health & Safety
- Whenever a ball is entering another court, "ball" should loudly be called, and that rally replayed. Play safely, we want to see you at future events.
- In the case of injury, up to 10 minutes will be allowed to determine if the player can continue.
- In case a player becomes ill or is injured, another registered player, if available, may serve as a replacement, if that player is at a level appropriate for the event. If a higher level player plays in a lower level event, then that team will not be eligible for a medal match.
- We have an AED and a First Aid kit on site.
