Tournament Description

KAMLOOPS OPEN 2022 -Sanctioned tournament
Put the dates on your calendar – MAY 27-29, 2022.
This event will take place in the beautiful Riverside Park.
Tournament events will include singles, men’s and women’s doubles, mixed doubles, and a
Junior Round Robin. The tournament will be a skill/age event, with five skill levels: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0,
4.5, 5.0+ and two age categories: any age and 60+. The Junior Round Robin will have two age
categories: 8-12 and 13-17. Teams must play at the skill level of the highest rated partner and in
the age category of the youngest player.
The format will be Double Elimination with re-entry to the championship bracket.
Championship side and medal matches will be 2 out of 3 games to 11 points (win by 2)
Loser side will be one game to 15 points (win by 2).
Round Robin format may be used for smaller events of five or fewer teams. Brackets may be combined, or limited in size, based on the number of entries.
Registration is $50, plus $10 for each event. Registration opens on April 1 , 2022 for Kamloops Pickleball club members and April 3, 2022 for non members.

Additional Information

Priority will be given to team registrations that are complete. Registrations will be considered
complete when both players have registered and paid the tournament fees. Teams that have not
completed registration of both players within 24 hours will be moved to the waitlist. Teams on the
waitlist that complete their registration will be added to the event, provided there is space.
The organizing committee reserves the right to cap the number of registrants on any one day of the tournament when the facilities/schedule reach capacity.
PICKLEBALL CANADA REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
This is a Pickleball Canada sanctioned tournament. All registrants must be members in good standing through May 27, 2022 to play in this tournament.
The tournament director reserves the right to review, and possibly alter the rating of players who self-rate below or above their actual rating.
It is important that players who do not yet have a CTPR because they have not participated in their first sanctioned event go to the following link at PCO and complete the requested online player questionnaire. This is a one time requirement to help the PCO Ratings Group gather player data and provide guidance if required. In order to register for this tournament you must have a Pickleball Brackets Account.
In your PLAYER PROFILE check "Receive in game text messages". Cell Carrier should be selected. This is how you will receive your game notifications and court assignments
Players are invited to practice Thursday May 26, 5-10PM
We will endeavor to have all matches refereed but can not guarantee. All medal matches will have referees..

Refund Policy

Registration Fees, minus a $10 Administration Fee, will be refunded for withdrawals before May 15 , 9:00 pm. Any withdrawals after May 15 , 9:01 pm will not be refunded.
In the case of inclement weather or other unforeseen issues between May 27 - 29 that prevent play, only those participants who have not played in ANY event will be refunded their registration & event fees, minus a $10.00 administration fee.
This is an outdoor tournament. If there is inclement weather, all will be done to play matches, but there will be NO refunds or credits due to inclement weather. Cancellation is a possibility due to inclement weather, health concerns (COVID) or other unforeseen circumstances during the tournament. If this occurs, the tournament director and organizing committee reserve the right to revise event formats.
This tournament will abide by all Public Health Orders. Refunds will not be issued if cancelled due to PHO reasons.
