We welcome you to our super friendly club. Come and experience Warrnambool City Pickleball's second annual tournament that's all inclusive and is going to showcase what Warrnambool has to offer to all our players. The Warrnambool Stadium (also know as the ARC) has three internal stadiums which will allow us to offer 22 indoor Pickleball courts. We are proud to offer a venue with tiered seating in two of the stadiums and surround seating in the third.
We have unisex shirts (men's cut) sizes XS - 7XL available to purchase for $40 and we have women's singlets, sizes 6 - 26 for $30 SEE PHOTOS ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE. These need to be ordered by 25th April to be printed in time for collecting at tournament. If you miss this deadline you can order at the tournament and we will post them to you later. Payment can be made online by emailing pickleballwarrnambool@gmail.com to request club's banking details or you can pay at tournament when collecting your order.
As this is a sanctioned tournament we will apply the Fairplay policy.
This tournament is also registered for AR (Australian Ranking) and there will be a division for those wanting to get an Australian Ranking.
Our open tournament is offered to all skill levels and ages including a bracket for Hybrid Para Pickleball, this event is for one para athlete and one able-bodied athlete to form a doubles pair. Everyone entering our tournament can choose to enter up to three events as long as the events you choose are at a different time to each other. Whether you are a first-time participant or a seasoned player, this tournament offers a fantastic opportunity for competitive play in a friendly electric atmosphere. Compete in a range of divisions that fit your skill level and enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded players.
We will be offering six events in five age groups , Junior Open in Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles, Hybrid Para Pickleball, Mens and Womens Doubles, including Mixed Doubles, Skinny Singles & Singles. The age groups are 18 under, 19+, 35+, 50+, 60+ and 70+ and Open. We would like to get enough entries to keep each of these age group brackets but please understand that we may have to merge some age groups if needed. You cannot enter both Singles and Skinny Singles, it's one or the other.
Please read "DIRECTOR'S DISCRETION" below.
You will meet and make many new friends at this tournament to add to your Pickleball family and it will be great to see familiar faces when you enter future tournaments.
Many various options of catering and food vans/tents will be provided. Coffee van onsite too. There is a separate multi-purpose lounge in the stadium that you can go and relax in away from the courts.
We plan to have the Singles and Skinny Singles on the Friday, please note you can only play one of these e.g. if you play Singles you cannot also play Skinny Singles and vice versa. Saturday will be gender Doubles. Sunday we will have the Mixed Doubles.
Saturday night our dinner will again be hosted by our sister club, City Bowls in Cramer Street. Last year's dinner was a huge success and we want to support the bowls club again this year.
Food and drink. We have already booked in a coffee van and this year we will be outsourcing food vans/local communities to provide a variety of food available for purchase. You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks into the stadium. Powerade, soft drinks and water will be available for sale at the stadium.
