Welcome to the Georgia Mountain Pickleball Club Fall Classic 2023 Tournament, held in the charming city of Hiawassee, Ga. The tournament will be at the Towns County Pickleball Complex, a dedicated 14-court state-of-the-art facility situated on Lake Chatuge with beautiful mountain views as a backdrop.

Also happening the same weekend is the Georgia Mountain Fall Festival, with first class musical performances, arts & crafts, unique attractions and a glimpse into North Georgia's rich history and culture. Bring your family and come spend the weekend in the North Georgia Mountains and enjoy our wonderful community.

PLEASE NOTE: ONLY REGISTRATIONS COMPLETED BY SEPTEMBER 7TH ARE GUARANTEED A FREE T-SHIRT AS LEAD TIME IS NECESSARY FOR PRODUCTION AND SHIPPING.

REGISTRATION:

You may register and identify your partner or request "Need partner". Your partner must register within five days of your registration or the team will be moved to the wait list. When the identified partner registers after the five day grace period, the team will automatically move from the wait list back to the active list if there is a slot available and both teams have paid. If a player needs a partner, the team will automatically move from the wait list to the active list once a partner is identified, registers, and both players have paid if there is an available slot to move to. NOTE: Your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until your partner has registered and all fees have been paid in full.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday October 6th, 2023 Women's Doubles

Saturday October 7th, 2023 Mixed Doubles

Sunday October 8th, 2023 Mens Doubles.

Competition each day may begin as early as 8:00 AM. Specific start times for each event will be posted and emailed to players approximately one week prior to the event. Your team will compete against every other team in your bracket.

Format is Round Robin.

Brackets of 3 teams: Double Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 15, win by 1.

Brackets of 4 teams: Double Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 15, win by 1.

Brackets of 5 or more teams: Each match will be one game to 11, win by 1.

As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to combine brackets as needed if brackets do not fill. If brackets are combined to create playable brackets, awards will be based on the combined bracket. Brackets will be combined by age if possible to avoid combining skills.

Age groups will be added/removed as dictated by registration with the intent to keep brackets at a maximum of 8 teams, and a goal to provide at least 4 games for each team entered. Tournament directors reserve the right to change format as needed.

Skills levels include 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+.

Age groups are 19+, 35+, 50+, 60+, 70+

A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player (or higher) and the age group of the younger player. Age is calculated as of 12/31/2023.

RATINGS

- PickleballBrackets.com ratings will be used.

- Players with a UTPR or DUPR that is higher than their Georgia Pickleball Association calculated tournament rating may be moved to the higher level at the discretion of the tournament director.

Matches are self-monitored. A referee will be on site and available if requested.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Withdrawal deadline is September 15th, 2023. No refunds for any reason after that date. Withdrawals prior to that date are subject to a $10 administration fee.

Inclement Weather Policy

This is an outdoor tournament. In the event of inclement weather, we will do what we can to provide a safe, playable surface. There are no refunds, credits or make up days, if the tournament is impacted by weather. There is no indoor backup plan for this tournament.
