RULES
• Under the PickleballBrackets system, the following skill levels LIMITS players to register under the following brackets. This is to prevent "sandbagging" (entering at a lower-level bracket than their true ability, making it easier to win and potentially garner a medal):
Skills: 2.50-2.99 = 2.5 and Up brackets
Skills 3.00-3.49 = 3.0 and Up brackets
Skills 3.50-3.99 = 3.5 and Up brackets
Skills 4.00-4.49 = 4.0 and Up brackets
Skills 4.50-4.99 = 4.5 and Up brackets
Skills 5.00-5.49 = 5.0 and Up brackets
• Brackets and registration are based on your DUPR rating. Please register for the appropriate bracket based on your DUPR rating. If you do not have a DUPR rating, we suggest you sign up. In the case of players that do not have a DUPR rating, they will register under their PickleballBrackets rating. As always, you can play up in skill level but cannot play down. For example, if you are a 3.5 but your partner is a 4.2 the lowest bracket your team can play is the 4.0 bracket.
• While this tournament isn’t sanctioned, we’ll be adhering to USA Pickleball rules, including using only paddles from the approved paddle list. Let’s play fair and play hard!
• Events with 7 or more team in Doubles will play Double Elimination in the Medal Round.
• Events with 6 teams or less in Doubles will play a Round Robin format with no playoffs. Game format will depend on the number of registered players/teams in each division.
• Tournament Director reserves the right to modify event formats as needed, depending on registrations.
• Events may be merged or split based on registration numbers.
COMBINED BRACKETS:
• If brackets are combined, medals will be awarded to top teams from original brackets.
• Events to be combined if there are less than 4 teams in Doubles. Tournament organizers possess the right to combine events based on either skill or age to provide the best overall playing experience, given the circumstances.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
• Brackets are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
• As demand grows, bracket maximums may be adjusted to accommodate more players.
•
***Tournament Director reserves the right to move players accordingly matching their DUPR skill level***
• All scores will automatically be reported to DUPR.
PARTNER REPLACEMENT POLICY:
• If you need a replacement partner after registration closes, please contact us. If a replacement player is found, the original player's fee will be refunded as long as the replacement player pays the registration.
• The replacement must match the original skill/age group, though players may play down in age or up in skill. All replacement players must be eligible for the original bracket or the team will be moved. For example, if you are in the 3.5-4.0 bracket and try to substitute a 4.3 player, you will be moved into the 4.0-4.5 bracket.
• Replacement details must be communicated to the registration coordinator by 4PM the day before the event.
REPLACEMENT PLAYER FEES:
• If the original player withdraws after registration closes, their registration fee is non-refundable.
• The replacement player must pay all applicable fees, and the withdrawing player is responsible for reimbursing the event fee.
These guidelines are in place to ensure fair play, smooth organization, and an enjoyable tournament experience for all participants!
If a minor is registering, the parent accepts all tournament waivers on behalf of the minor.
