The Evangel Valor Gold Mechanical 2025 pickleball tournament.

Welcome to another great event put on by Evangel and Ozarks Pickleball Club.

Evangel University is thrilled to host this tournament for the second year. Last year the university was able to raise a substantial amount of money to go toward a new facility. The funds were generously matched and contributed to the new AGFinancial Arena. This year's funds will go directly towards Evangel athletes, coaches, and sports teams.

This event will be indoors on hardwood surfaces and played with the Gamma Photon indoor ball.

Registration includes a FREE T Shirt, swag bag, and lunch. Register by March 17th to guarantee your shirt size.

This tournament will be played on Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th. We will have open play on Thursday, April 3rd at 5pm and are happy to offer a student tournament as well on Thursday, April 3rd.

Mixed doubles and scrambles will be held on Friday, April 4th.

Mens doubles and womens doubles will be held on Saturday, April 5th.

Practice time will be available Thursday night April 3rd in the AGFinancial Arena from 5pm to 8pm for $5.

Entry fee is $50 plus fees for your first event and only $10 plus fees more for your second event. This amount is per player.

Pickleballbrackets charges players to use the system for sign-up. That fee is passed on during signup. So, total cost for each player to sign up for a single event should be $55 and $70 for both days.

PLEASE NOTE: Brackets start times will not be finalized until after registration closes. Exact bracket start times will be posted about 5-6 days prior to the tournament. In order to avoid long wait times, some brackets won't start until later in the day.

Brackets will be separated by age and then skill level. You may play DOWN in age and/or UP in skill at your discretion. You must play at the LOWER of both partners' age or the HIGHER of both partners' skill level.

Be sure to register for your preferred age/skill level and check your current Skill Rating on Pickleball Brackets & DUPR. If you do not know what skill level to register for, seek the advice of more experienced players or contact the Tournament Director.

Planned Age Divisions: 12+,50+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 80+

Planned Skill Divisions:

2.5-2.99 (beginner/recreational)

3.0-3.49 (novice)

3.5-3.99 (intermediate)

4.0 + (advanced)

70+ Mens Scramble

80+ Mens Scramble

70+ Womens Scramble

Brackets generally would need to have a minimum of 4 teams or else they will be combined with similar skill or age levels. Events may be merged or split based on registration numbers and at the discretion of the TD. Medals will be awarded based on standings in the merged event or the original event.

TIME: Thursday April 3rd - Open Play 5pm & Evangel Student Tournament 6pm

Friday April 4th - Noon start

Saturday April 5th - 8:00am start

Daily end times will depend on number of players. Bracket times will be posted the week of the event. You should arrive to check in roughly an hour before your bracket is scheduled to start.

The AGFinancial Arena and Ashcroft Center are hardwood.

Please note that there will be a registration "Service Fee" charged for each registration of $5.00 for 1 event or $10.00 for 2+ events. This is a non-refundable fee charged by the website.

Non-Compliant Paddles Identified

The following paddles have been deemed non-compliant and are prohibited in all Ozarks Pickleball Club events effective immediately:

• Joola: Perseus 14mm Mod TA-15, Perseus 16mm Mod TA-15

• Gearbox: Pro Power Elongated

• ProKennex: Black Ace Ovation Black Ace Pro, Black Ace LG, Black Ace XF

Approved Paddles

All Paddles used in Ozarks Pickleball Club tournaments must be approved by USA Pickleball and listed on their approved paddle list.

Joola “3s” paddles are also approved for use as they are approved by the UPA-A and also meet the new PBCoR testing standards by USA Pickleball.

Every effort will be made to play this tournament in its entirety.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Withdrawals made before the registration deadline of will receive a full refund, less the nonrefundable service fees. No refunds will be given for withdrawals after the cancellation deadline.

This is an INDOOR tournament so the event will go as scheduled unless the facility is unable to host due to inclement weather or another reason. In that case, every effort will be made to play the games on their scheduled days, however, adjustments may be necessary, and no refunds will be given once an event has begun. If an entire event is completely cancelled due to inclement weather, refunds will be given for that event only, not for registration fees or other event fees.
