2023 COSMIC HAMLET OPEN

The Homer Pickleball Club and the City of Homer Community Recreation program are pleased to partner together and present the 2023 Cosmic Hamlet Open.

Tournament Dates: Labor Day weekend Sept. 1 (Fri) - Sept. 3 (Sun)

Location: HERC Gymnasium, 326 Woodside Ave, Homer, Alaska 99603

EVENTS SCHEDULE:

Women's Doubles: Friday, Sept. 1

Mixed Doubles: Saturday, Sept. 2

Men's Doubles: Sunday, Sept. 3

SKILL DIVISIONS:

Women's Doubles: 3.0 & below, 3.5, 4.0 & above

Mixed Doubles 3.0 & below, 3.5, 4.0 & above

Men's Doubles 3.0 & below, 3.5, 4.0 & above

TOURNAMENT BALL: Yellow Onix Fuse

*Bracket start times will be released after registration closes on August 25th.

**The Tournament Director reserves the right to combine divisions or create additional divisions as required, depending on registrations. Our goal is to provide the best experience possible.

FORMAT:

All divisions will start with round robin play with the top teams advancing to single elimination playoffs. The tournament director reserves the right to alter the format depending on registrations.

Minimum of 3 games played.

IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IN A DIVISION THAT IS ALREADY FULL:

The HERC gymnasium has limited space with 3 courts available. In an effort to provide the best experience, there is a max of 10 teams per skill division. However, if a division is full and you're interested in playing, sign up anyway and get on the waitlist. We may be able to expand the number of teams beyond 10 depending on registration numbers for other events. We'll notify players if a bracket is able to be expanded after registrations close on the 25th of August. A refund will be provided if you're on the waitlist and do not end up playing in the event.

Early Registration until July 31st: $45 includes one event. $10 for each additional event.

Registration from Aug 1st - Aug 25th: $50 includes one event. $10 for each additional event.

*NOTE - Since our last tournament, Pickleball Brackets has added a new fee of $5/event to a max of $10. This fee goes directly to Pickleball Brackets and is separate from the registration fee. This fee is not refundable.

WITHDRAWALS: The deadline to withdraw is August 25. No refunds will be given after that date.

Your spot is not guaranteed in your event until both partners are registered and paid in full. Both partners on the team have 7 days to register and pay or you will be moved to the waiting list.
