2025 Kamloops Open Pickleball Tournament
EVENTS Age Groups:
5.0+ CASH EVENTS: 14-49 & 50+
Singles: 14-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65+
Doubles: 14-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65+
Mixed: 14-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65+
SKILL LEVELS:
3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0+
REGISTRATION:
Registration Fee: $70
Event Fee: $10 per event
Event Fee for 5.0 Cash prize event: $30

SKILL/AGE REQUIREMENTS:
Should both players choose to, they may play up ONLY a 1.0 rating level from their current CTPR.
Partners must play in the level of the younger persons age category.
The tournament directors reserve the right to review, and possibly alter the rating/placement of a player.
Participants must compete at the skill level of the higher-rated player or above. Unrated players may be moved if deemed appropriate by the organizers. In age-based brackets, the bracket is determined by the age of the younger partner.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
Round Robin Format:
All tournament events (doubles, mixed and singles) will follow a round-robin format, except for the 5.0 Cash Event.
Singles: Round Robin play. All matches are one game to 15, win by 2.
Brackets with 4 to 7 Teams:
Straight round robin format.
One game to 15, win by 2.
Top 4 teams advance:
Gold/Silver Match: 1st vs. 2nd, best 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2.
Bronze Match: 3rd vs. 4th, one game to 15, win by 2.
Brackets with 8 or more Teams:
Two pools.
Top 2 teams from each pool advance to the medal round:
Semifinals: 1st vs. 2nd and 2nd vs. 1st, one game to 15, win by 2.
Gold/Silver Match: Winners play best 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2.
Bronze Match: One game to 15, win by 2.
Divisions with one to three teams may be merged with another division at discretion of Tournament Directors.
5.0 $3,000 CASH Divisions will be Double Elimination.
Matches will be best 2 out of 3 games to 11 win by 2, while all opportunity bracket matches will be one game to 15.
All medal matches will be best 2 out of 3 games to 11.

The prize money for 5.0+ Women’s, Men’s and Mixed 14-49 will be guaranteed $1,000 in addition to Event Fee.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:
Both players must register and pay the tournament fees within 48 hours to be considered complete.
All players must have a current Pickleball Canada membership.

The Tournament Directors reserve the right to modify the format of any bracket, division, or level as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the event. They also have the authority to change any rules or policies as needed. This adaptability is essential for responding to unforeseen circumstances and for enhancing the tournament experience for all participants.

The Tournament Director has the authority to enforce apparel changes if clothing is deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or if its color approximates the ball color, potentially making it harder to see.
Refund Policy
REFUND POLICY:
Refund Policy
Cancellations before May 11, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.: Registrants will receive a refund for their registration and event fees, minus a $15.00 administration fee.
No refunds after May 11, 2025, at 5:01 p.m. for player cancellations or withdrawals.
If the tournament cannot be played due to unforeseen circumstances, registrants will be refunded their fees, minus a $15.00 administration fee.
If the tournament is canceled after it has started, a partial refund may be issued at the discretion of the tournament committee.
If play is ultimately canceled due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the tournament director and organizing committee reserve the right to make final decisions regarding scheduling and refunds.
Prize Money
PRIZE MONEY has been sponsored by Comazzetto Group, BMO Private Wealth.
The prize money for 5.0+ Women’s, Men’s and Mixed 14-49 will be guaranteed $1,000 in addition to Event Fee. Event Fee will be divided proportionally based on the number of players registered. The event fee ($30 per player) will be added to the $1,000. The payouts will be distributed as follows: 55% to the gold medalists, 30% to the silver medalists, and 15% to the bronze medalists.
For example: if 10 teams register for the men's doubles open event, the total prize pool would be $1,600, which would be distributed as follows: $880 to 1st place (55%), $480 to second place (30%) and $240 to third place (15%)."
The 5.0, 50+ Age bracket payout will be determined by the number or registrants. The Event Fee will be divided proportionally based on the number of players registered. The event fee ($30 per player) will be distributed as follows: 55% to the gold medalists, 30% to the silver medalists, and 15% to the bronze medalists.
