The California Pickleball Classic is an annual high-quality pickleball tournament for all ages and abilities. We strive to produce a well-rounded, inclusive event without large registration fees. $9,000 in prize money is at stake for the open divisions hosted to highlight the talented pickleball players of California. At the same time, amateur competitors enjoy complimentary player gifts from our sponsors and many refereed matches on their road through the tournament bracket, with medals for the winners. This tournament is hosted at a spacious, full-service venue with an on-site restaurant and clubhouse amenities. Each year, with the help of our many corporate sponsors, we are able to host raffles, giveaways, and numerous vendors. Proceeds of these events benefit the Fresno State Pickleball Club.

Registration is completed by DUPR skill level. Groups with fewer than 4 teams/players will be combined to create viable brackets at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Start times listed are projected. Final start times for brackets to be posted on November 3rd, subject to change until the day before play. Partners must register within 7 days of each other, or the team will be removed to the Wait List, to be added if possible.

The California Pickleball Classic Open Divisions will award cash payouts to the top 3 teams. Brackets limited to 20 teams/players. Divisions with fewer than 16 teams will not pay out. Less than 20 teams will have a 75% payout. Wait List available, and we will add where possible, depending on weather/courts.

The California Pickleball Classic Amateur Divisions will be a Round Robin, with the top 4 teams in each division advancing to a single elimination bracket. All round robin matches will be games to 15. All medal round matches will be a 2/3 to 11 format.

3 teams/players: Double Round Robin, games to 15, WinBy2, top 2 compete for Gold, third place in RR wins Bronze

4 teams/players: Double Round Robin, games to 15, WinBy2, top 2 complete for Gold, others compete for Bronze

5 teams/players - Round Robin, games to 15, WinBy2. All teams advance to the medal round

6-7 teams/players: Round Robin, games to 15, WinBy2, top 4 advance to medal round

8-9 teams/players - Round Robin, games to 15, WinBy2. All teams advance to the Single Elimination Medal bracket

10 or more teams will play pools, with the top 2 finishers in each pool advancing to the medal bracket. The above formats apply to each pool group.

Full refunds will be given minus a $10 processing fee and $5 non-refundable service fee per event up until the 1st of November.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

This is an outdoor event. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs, we will do all we can to play matches. If brackets are in mid-play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs, the situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined.

We will always try to wait out the weather and play. Rarely will we ever cancel an event.

Participants are required to sign a facility waiver before participation in the event.
