Scoring:
Each doubles game will be played to 21 points with rally scoring. Players will switch ends when the first team reaches 11 points.
Rally scoring is to 21 points winning by at least two (2) points. There is no freeze, meaning a team does not have to serve to win. The score is announced with just two numbers as there is no first or second server.
Serving:
There will be a right side (even) player and a left side (odd) player. The right side player will serve when their score is even and receive when the opponent’s score is even. The left side player will serve when their score is odd and receive when the opponent’s score is odd. Players DO NOT switch sides after scoring points.
Teams will be permitted one (1) player switch per game. Meaning at a stoppage of play, the right side player and left side player can change sides. The team performing the switch will inform their opponents of the player switch. During that player switch, the opponents can counter and switch their positions if they choose. This does not count as their switch and will still be permitted to use their player switch.
Time-Outs:
During Pool Play there will be no time-outs permitted. During Play-Offs teams will be permitted two (2) time-outs per match. Time-outs will be up to one (1) minute in length.
Singles Tiebreaker:
A singles tiebreaker is a game to 15 points (win by 2) with rally scoring. Each team must rotate its four (4) players in a set order. The order will be Female #1, Female #2, Male #1, Male #2. All team members will play in three (3) rally rotations until the game has concluded (Female 1 will play three (3) rallies, Female 2 will play three (3) rallies, Male 1 will play three (3) rallies, Male 2 will play three (3) rallies, and then rotation repeats in the same order.)
Players will serve from the right or left side of the court based on their score. A player will serve on the right side of the court when their score is even, and serve on the left side of the court when their score is odd. Teams will be permitted one (1) additional time-out during the singles tiebreaker but only in playoffs, still no time-outs in pool play.
4.0 and 4.5+ Open Division will play regular singles with all other divisions playing skinny singles.
Play-Offs
The goal is for eight (8) teams per bracket, split into two (2) pools of four (2). The top two (2) teams from each pool will advance to play-offs. Play-offs will include a Semi-Final, Final and 3rd place game. The first place team in each pool will play the second place team from the other pool. The winning teams from each Semi-Final will advance to the final with the losing teams advancing to the 3rd place game.
