Tournament Description
All Manitoba and University Covid-19 Mandates must be followed.
Registration will be considered complete when both players are registered. If payment is not made in eight days, you will be moved to the Wait List.
The HLC Pickleball Battle of the Paddle Tournament will be skills based and will be played indoors on 10 courts. This will use IFP rules.
Registration for all participants will open on March 1, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.
Cost to enter will include the $25 Registration fee plus $10 for each event entered.
Players may enter a maximum of 2 events and may only enter one doubles and one mixed doubles.
Registration must be completed online at www.pickleballbrackets.com
If you have a partner, choose 'I Have' and select him/her or select 'I Need' a partner.
This tournament requires that participants be a member of Pickleball Canada, you must take out/renew your membership before your registration will be considered complete.
The current International Federation of Pickleball rules will apply.
The tournament ball will be the onix Fuse Ball.

The Healthy Living Centre is very proud to host the first Battle of the Paddle Pickleball Tournament! On behalf of the HLC Pickleball, I welcome all pickleball athletes, volunteers and spectators to be a part of this outstanding sporting event in beautiful Brandon, Manitoba.
We are especially excited for the pickleball community to experience our beautiful facility that had an amazing group of dedicated pickleball players.
All of our sponsors deserve special recognition for their generous contributions in support of our tournament. HLC Pickleball appreciates their interest and involvement in promoting the growth of the sport of pickleball in Brandon.
As Tournament Director, I have great pride in the commitment of our HLC Pickleball Tournament Committee. Special thanks to each and every volunteer who has stepped forward to make this event a memorable experience for all participants and spectators in 2022.

Format
The current International Federation of Pickleball rules will apply.
Players must be 10 years of age or older any time in 2022 in order to compete.
Age brackets: is open to all. Your tournament age is the age you will become in 2022. Skill brackets will be combined if the number of entries does not support separating brackets by skill.
Events will be Round Robin time allowing and tournament directors discretion with each match being 1 games to 11. After Round Robin is complete players will be put into a draw with games best 2 out of 3. For players that lose in this draw they will drop down to the winners bracket and that will consist of one game to 15. Players are guaranteed three games in the draw.
All Brackets will be round robin format time allowing. If time is tight will be switched to double elimination.
The tournament committee reserves the right to place players in their appropriate skill level category and to combine brackets based on registrations.
If this is the first time you will participate in a tournament which uses the Pickleball Brackets system, give careful thought to the skill levels you recorded in your Player Profile. These skill levels plus .250 will be the starting point for your tournament rating calculation. Experienced tournament players are required to enter at the highest of their current Pickleball Brackets tournament rating or UTPR as of the date of registration.
Participants may play up a skill level (.5) or down in age at the discretion of the tournament director.
The tournament committee reserves the right to place players in their appropriate skill level category and to combine brackets based on registrations.
