Welcome to Battle of the Paddle - in the stunning region of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

This event will be held in a brand new indoor arena, which is part of Pettigrew Green arena. There is plenty of parking at the very front and down the sides of the venue.

Saturday will be doubles day, pool games and quarters will be played to 15, win by 2. Semi and finals will be best of 3 games to 11, win by 2. Prize-giving will be held at the end of each day.

Sunday is mixed doubles day, pool games and quarters will be played to 15, win by 2. Semi and finals will be best of 3 games to 11, win by 2.

SINGLES and UNDER 18 EVENTS: Weather permitting, we will be holding a FREE singles competition at Sylvan Road on Friday 17th November - this will be a day time event and Registration forms will be done separately via google docs, link below or will also be in your confirmation email sent to you after you register. As well, as 'The Shed Pickleball' or 'Pickleball Hawkes Bay' Facebook pages.

Under 18 Event - for the first time in any NZ tournament - we are running an under 18 free event, this will be a Coed event for any young person, who is 17 or younger. Further information and registration will be done via Google Docs.

Additional Charge of approx $16 (total) is charged by Pickleball Brackets when you register.

Tournament Dinner - Saturday 18th November - this will be at Napier RSA - 34 Vautier Street, Napier. The cost is $35 per person for a smorgasbord meal and a separate bar will be available onsite. This is just purely to socialise and relax, with no formalities will be happening at this dinner.

Please note, no food or drinks are allowed in the stadium - apart from water bottles. Tables and Chairs will be set up out in the Foyer where there will be plenty of room to eat and relax.

Food Trucks will be onsite, along with coffee. There is a Subway at the entrance of the old arena and Taradale township is only a 5 minute drive should you wish to try some local cafes.

November in Hawkes Bay can be very warm, please be aware of this when you are not in the arena.

Refunds will be issued up until the tournament closes for registrations, excluding the Pickleball brackets service fee of $16 which is non refundable.

The following Liability Waiver Statement is part of the online registration process for the Hawkes Bay Battle of the Paddle 2023. All persons being registered for this tournament must accept this waiver.

All participants must accept the liability waiver conditions. Anyone registering participants other than themselves agree that they have informed the other persons of the waiver conditions, and that they are agreeing to those waivers on their behalf. I understand and agree that there are risks of injury or illness that may occur while participating in this fitness activity, including muscle sprains, broken bones, heat prostration, knee, foot or back injuries, heart attacks and the spread of communicable diseases such as COVID-19.

I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,

I WILLINGLY AGREE to comply with the stated and customary rules and conditions for participation, as communicated by Pickleball Hawkes Bay and the Pickleball coordinator(s).

If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the coordinator; and,

I AGREE that any claim of injury or illness occurring due to perceived negligence on the part of the Pickleball coordinators, Pickleball Hawkes Bay is WAIVED.

I Acknowledge and Agree to this release and I understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between myself and Pickleball Hawkes Bay and I agree to it by registering for the activity.
