Pickleball South Australia is hosting a Pickleball Tournament for the first time at the Australian Masters Games in Adelaide in October 2023.
The 3-day tournament is held 11-13 October 2023, comprising three events: skinny singles (Wednesday), gender doubles (Thursday) and mixed doubles (Friday).
The tournament venue is indoors at The Lights Community and Sports Centre.
Registrations close on 22 September at midnight ACST.
This is a Pickleball Australia SANCTIONED tournament using the IFP Official Rules of Pickleball.
Only members of Pickleball SA, Pickleball Australia, or an affiliated club, may enter.
Here are some key details for your tournament entry.
- Entry Fee: $40 per player includes one event. Additional events are $10 per event. Service fees apply to all registrations.
- AMG Event Fee: Note that each player is required to pay an event fee to the Australian Masters Games (AMG) before registering for this tournament.
- Events will start with round robin games in groups (game to 11 win by 2) and move to elimination (game to 15 win by 2). Medal matches are best 2 out of three games - first two are first to 11 with the last being 11 win by 2.
- Age categories are in ten year age brackets: 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+.
- Players of an older age can enter a lower age group event.
- There are three skill categories in each age bracket for each event: 3.0 and under, 3.0 to 4.0, and 4.0 and above.
- Players of a lower skill can enter a higher skill category.
- Age/skill categories with fewer than four players/teams will be merged with other categories.
- Players are guaranteed three games in each event.
- Medals will be awarded to gold, silver and bronze winning competitors for each bracket.
