FORMAT
In this MLP-style team event, each team is composed of two men and two women. Matches are composed of four 21-point games, with the first being women’s doubles, then men’s doubles, and the final two games consisting of mixed doubles.
Each game is worth 1 point and the whole match is a best of 4. The singles tiebreaker is 21-points.
The event uses the updated MLP rally scoring system, with the following changes to the previous format:
1. Games will be played to 21 points, with a winning margin of at least two points
2. There will be NO freeze at any point and a point will be won on every serve; teams will be able to win a game either while receiving the serve or while serving
3. DreamBreakers will be played to 21 points; players will play 4 points at a time
Players are guaranteed 8 games per team (at least 2 matches per team). The team matches will be in a pooled, round robin format (with at least 3 teams), followed by a single elimination bracket for the top teams in the pool play (at least 2 teams per pool will go to the bracket play).
EVENTS
The event features four skill levels:
Premier Level (No DUPR max)
No combined DUPR maximum
This is typically a “DUPR 20” level event in comparable tournaments
Players signed by Major League Pickleball may not participate in this event
Challenger Level
A combined DUPR maximum of 18.3 for the team at the time of registration
No single player may have a DUPR of 5.075 or higher.
Intermediate Level
A combined DUPR maximum of 16.3 for the team at the time of registration
No single player may have a DUPR of 4.575 or higher.
Beginner Level
A combined DUPR maximum of 14.3 for the team at the time of registration
No single player may have a DUPR of 4.075 or higher.
Note: Players may only play on one team. Non-rated players will be considered equivalent to one-fourth of the division level (e.g. a player signed up for Intermediate as a NR player will be considered a 4.075.
SIGNING UP
The team captain will register as the captain on PickleballBrackets.com. Signing up and making a payment on this website secures your team’s spot in the division.
The team captain will submit the team name and player information to the tournament director
via this form. If you have questions, please email AJ at aj.davis.pickleball@gmail.com.
The tournament director will review your team and validate eligibility. Within 72 hours, your team will either appear
on the approved list, or you will receive email notification of ineligibility. Team captains may either re-submit with different team members or opt to move to the correct division.
INCREDIBLE PRIZES: Premier Level
The winners of the Premier Level division will receive the following prizes:
Your team will play against Ranchers PROFESSIONALS in a special exhibition match on September 7th. Your team can choose to play as a team against the Ranchers team - or to play with their team (by mixing and matching players from the teams).

CHECK IN
Players must check in at the tournament desk at least 30 min prior to the start of the event. Players not checked in at their event start may be withdrawn from their event.
WEATHER AND RAIN OUT POLICY
No refunds will be issued in the case of weather related cancellations. This is an indoor tournament.
REFEREE
Players will monitor their own line calls and scoring. The tournament director and staff will be roving and available to help players as needed.
TOURNAMENT BALLS
Balls will be provided and available at the registration desk. Players must return balls after each match.
WARM UP
Players are welcome to warm up on the courts prior to the start of the tournament, or if there is an open court with no match. Players may also use open courts outdoors. Players will get up to 5 minutes of warm up time for their first match of the day and up to 2 minutes of warm up time for any additional matches.
TOURNAMENT RULES
Our event will follow USAPA rules (see: https://usapickleball.org/what-is-pickleball/official-rules/). Players may ask any questions they have or report any violations at the tournament desk. The tournament director may use their discretion in interpreting or modifying the USAPA rules to suit the specific scenario and ensure fun/competitive play.
Our tournament directors will not be validating all paddles at the events, but any concerns/violations should be reported by players at the tournament desk. If players have concerns about a delaminated or non-approved paddle, please notify the player before the match (when possible) or come to the tournament desk if play has started. The tournament directors have decided that since this is an amateur only event, we will give players the opportunity to switch paddles (or choose to forfeit) rather than default to a forfeited game as stated in the USAPA rules, especially in light of paddles with an approved stamp that are no longer on the approved list. If you have any questions about your paddle eligibility, please send email to the tournament director prior to the tournament or ask at the tournament desk.
DUPR
This tournament will submit all tournament scores to DUPR. You should expect the games to take 2-4 weeks to appear in DUPR. Please reach out to us if you see any discrepancies in the reporting after the full results are posted.
