Towpath Tennis Center is excited to host the third annual Akron Open Pickleball

Championships! Pickleball has become America’s fastest growing sport. It has exploded at

Towpath since six dedicated outdoor pickleball courts opened in the fall of 2022.

Towpath will be hosting this four-day pickleball tournament June 19-22, 2025 including a players party. The event will have men’s and women’s singles, doubles, mixed doubles and 60+ play from 3.0-4.5+ levels.

Each day will consist of various levels of play allowing up to 224 participants if draws are completely filled. All play will be held outdoors, but indoor backup courts will be available if it rains. Spectators will be welcomed.

All Players $40 Event registration, $10 Per Bracket Fee and $5 Pickleball Bracket service fee.

Medals for 1st and 2nd place teams

Play format will be a round robin with the top 4 to playoff and medal round

This tournament is Powered by Pro S1 pickleball and will be used for balls throughout the tournament.

Snacks will be provided for all tournament participants throughout event

There are water filling stations on site. Water and other lights snacks are available for purchase inside main clubhouse as well.

Restrooms and showers are available in the main clubhouse and the Basecamp building

Spectators are welcome to watch and join the event!

There will not be referees during matches. Players make their own calls. Good sportsmanship and pickleball etiquette is expected at all times.

Guidelines for calls: Line calls should be made by the team reviewing the ball and the ball should be called "OUT" if the ball lands clearly outside of the court. If player has any doubt, the ball should be assumed "IN" and play should continue.

If the hitting team see the ball out, they may call it out on themselves. Either team can make calls on service faults or non-volley/kitchen faults. The hitting team is expected to call faults on themselves and/or their partner.

We appreciate your help to make this event a fun experience. If there are any problems please bring it to our attention so the issue can be addressed.

There will be no refunds. Pickleball Bracket $5 service fee cannot be refunded.
