3rd Annual "In a Pickle with the Bears" MSU Fundraiser
Tournament Description
Join us INDOORS at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, MO for the 3rd Annual "In a Pickle with the Bears" MSU Softball Fundraiser!
14 Indoor Courts. ALL BRACKETS INDOOR Tennis Surface. Temporary Nets. Franklin X-40 outdoor balls.
All brackets will be ROUND ROBIN. Some will have additional playoff bracket depending on registration. 4 game minimum.
Cost is $50 for 1 or 2 events (plus the website service fee: $5 for 1 event or $10 for 2). Please note: website service fees are non-refundable.
Includes "guaranteed" event shirt if you register by January 8th. Final registration deadline is January 13th at 11:59pm.
Events will be:
Saturday: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Senior Scrambles. Senior Scramble is individual sign up and play with different partners each game. We will do a 70+ and also a 80+ if we get at least 4 entries.
Sunday: Mixed Doubles, Youth Scrambles. Youth Scramble is individual sign up and play with different partners each game designed for beginner or new players. Youth may also choose to play the skill division brackets (with adults).
PLEASE NOTE: Brackets start times will not be finalized until after registration closes. Exact bracket start times will be posted about 5-6 days prior to the tournament. In order to avoid long wait times, some brackets won't start until later in the day.
Brackets will be separated by age and then skill level. You may play DOWN in age and/or UP in skill at your discretion. You must play at the LOWER of both partners' age or the HIGHER of both partners' skill level.
Be sure to register for your preferred age/skill level and check your current Skill Rating on Pickleball Brackets & DUPR. If you do not know what skill level to register for, seek the advice of more experienced players or contact the Tournament Director.
Planned Age Divisions: 12+, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+, 80+
Planned Skill Divisions:
2.5-2.99 (beginner/recreational)
3.0-3.49 (novice)
3.5-3.99 (intermediate)
4.0-4.49 (adv intermediate)
4.5-4.99 (advanced)
5.0+ Expert
Brackets generally would need to have a minimum of 4 teams or else they will be combined with similar skill or age levels. Events may be merged or split based on registration numbers and at the discretion of the TD. Medals will be awarded based on standings in the merged event or the original event.

Saturday, January 20th
8:00am - 8:00pm - Men's & Women's Doubles, Senior Scrambles
Sunday, January 21st
8:00am - 5:00pm - Mixed Doubles, Youth Scrambles

Additional Information
There will be OPEN PLAY on Friday, Jan 19th from 7-10PM at the facility for $5.00 each ($10.00 per person if not registered for the tournament). No advance sign up required.
Registration includes a FREE T Shirt! Register by Jan 8, 2024 to guarantee your shirt size. Registrations after Jan 8th, 2024 are NOT guaranteed to receive a shirt!
Please note that there will be a registration "Service Fee" charged for each registration of $5.00 for 1 event or $10.00 for 2+ events. This is a non-refundable fee charged by the website.

ALL Proceeds will benefit either MSU Softball or Ozarks Pickleball Club.
PLEASE NOTE: "Foul Ball" Mulligans (do overs) will be sold for this event as part of the fundraiser. Each player may play a "do over" once per game, therefore 2 per team per game. At the conclusion of any rally, the player presents the "foul ball" ticket and the last rally is replayed. This is a major fundraiser for the event and brings an extra level of strategy and excitement to the games!
There will also be a SILENT AUCTION with amazing prizes, so please come prepared to bid!
Refund Policy
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
Withdrawals made before the registration deadline of January 14th will receive a full refund, less the nonrefundable service fees. No refunds will be given for withdrawals after the cancellation deadline.

Weather
This is an INDOOR tournament so the event will go as scheduled unless the facility is unable to host due to inclement weather or another reason. In that case, every effort will be made to play the games on their scheduled days, however, adjustments may be necessary, and no refunds will be given once an event has begun. If an entire event is completely cancelled due to inclement weather, refunds will be given for that event only, not for registration fees or other event fees.
Health & Safety
There will be AED's on site as part of the normal operations of the facility. Players are allowed the customary 15 min medical timeout as described in the current USA Pickleball Rule Book.
