REGISTRATION CLOSES NOVEMBER 23, 2024 - 12:00 PM (NOON)

The tournament is intended to be a fun, learning experience for all FPC club members at all skill levels. As it’s the holiday season, the tournament committee encourages you to dress up in your favourite holiday outfits. The tournament committee will award the top three festive partnerships. Please ensure your holiday accessories do not hinder your play or your opponents.

This event is a private club tournament fundraiser for local food banks and the FPC tournament committee (50/50 split).

• Fee: $25 for one event and $40 for two events. Once registered send payment to

• Location: Nashwaaksis Field House

• Courts: 13 courts

• DUPR and FPC club ratings will be updated with results of this tournament, note not CTPR - as this is

not a sanctioned tournament.

Brackets: The Brackets will depend on the number of registrants, changes may be made to either the skills bracket or age brackets, this will only be done to manage registration numbers and time allocation. We will start with the following for Men & Women’s Doubles, and Mixed :

Skill Levels:

- 3.00 and under (this included players with skill rating 2.00 to 3.49)

- 3.50 to 3.99

- 4.00 plus

Age levels:

- 55 and under

- 56 and above

Competition Schedule:

One day – Saturday Doubles in the morning and Mixed in the afternoon (all levels and skills)

Start times vary by bracket; players must check details one week prior.

Format:

- Round Robin games to 11 win by at least 1 - three games guaranteed.

- The top four teams advance to play-offs. (If there are two pools the top two teams in each pool advance)

- Play-off is single elimination.

- Play-off games are to 15 win by at least 1.

- Bronze medal game is to 15 win by at least 1, and Gold medal game is best of three, games to 11 win by

at least 1.

- A referee will be assigned to gold medal matches and when possible, we will assign a referee to other playoff games.

Teams:

- Maximum of 8 teams per bracket.

- A minimum of 4 teams per bracket or pool, guaranteeing a minimum of three games per team.

- Waitlist available for additional players.

Adjustments: Organizing committee reserves the right to modify brackets based on registration numbers.

Once registered please send your payment to fton.pickleball@gmail.com and indicate if you are paying for one event: $25.00 or two events: $40.00.

Tournament Rules and Guidelines:

1. Time-outs: One, one minute time-out per team per game for both round robin and playoffs.

2. Warm-up: 1-minute warm-up allowed before each game.

3. Medical Time-out: 15-minute limit, approved by the Tournament Director. If unable to continue after the time-out, players must forfeit the match but can play the remaining games if able.

4. Rules: The 2024 international edition of the Pickleball USA rulebook will apply. Players must familiarize themselves with the rules.

5. Match Forfeit: Points earned in a forfeited match will be counted as your score; the opposing team gets the winning points.

6. Score Keeping: A clipboard with a score sheet will be provided. The winner of a coin toss (1 or 2) selects side, serve, receive, or defer.

7. Court Space: Side changes at 6 for 11-point games and 8 for 15 point games. Respect the space when crossing courts; wait until exchanges are finished.

8. Passing Disturbance: Stop playing immediately if players are distracted by passing people. Resume service after disturbance is resolved.

9. Post-Game Procedure: Fill in the results sheet, ensure both teams initial the results, promptly leave the court and bring the results to the operations desk.

Refund Policy:

• Refunds available until November 30.

• For withdrawals after November 30, the players will be refunded all but $15 administration fee.

• Snow/storm date in January.
