Welcome to the 4th Alabama Open!

The 2024 Alabama Open promises to be an incredible exciting experience for first-time and seasoned tournament players alike!

Since 3/31/24 is Easter Sunday, we are modifying the days the events are played. We will not play on Easter Sunday. Placeholders are set now just to have the dates show on the PickleballBrackets.com calendar.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

* Register for the skill level desired (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, or 5.0). Team skill level will be determined by the player with the highest skill level on the team.

* Brackets will be created by dividing all registrants in the skill level into groups of 4 - 6 teams based on age. Team age will be determined by the youngest player on the team.

* Medals will be awarded for each bracket.

* Each bracket will be a round-robin with a playoff.

- 4 team brackets will play one game to 15 win by 2.

- 5 and 6 team brackets will play one game to 11 win by 2.

* Top 4 teams will advance to a playoff.

* #1 Seed v #4 Seed in Semifinal #1 and #2 Seed v #3 Seed in Semifinal #2. (2/3 to 11 win by 2)

* Winners play for Gold/Silver. Losers play for Bronze. (2/3 to 11 win by 2)

We will not be a sanctioned tournament this year. However, all doubles games will be refereed. Singles games may or may not have a referee.

NOTE: Registration deadline (March 7, 2024) is 3 weeks before the tournament to allow for the extra time needed to configure the brackets.

Thu (3/28) - All singles (regular and skinny; men and women)

Fri (3/29) - All gender doubles (men and women)

Sat (3/30) - All mixed doubles

We are busily adding amenities and organizing fun activities that will enhance the tournament experience. We will update the site as information becomes available.

All courts will have permanent nets or C&D Championship Nets. All players will be playing on the highest quality nets possible.

Spectators will be able to enjoy all of the action sitting on bleachers or bring your own tent. Concessions, restrooms, and restroom trailers will be available.

PLAYER WITHDRAWAL POLICY

* Full refund (less any non-refundable payment charges) if withdrawal is completed by March 8th.

* Wait listed ONLY players will not be charged a processing fee and may remain on the wait list throughout the duration of the tournament.

* All refunds after March 7th will be considered a request and evaluated by the tournament director.

* Please send your withdrawal/refund request to the Tournament Director.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

This is an outdoor tournament. There is no indoor back up. If weather is a factor, we will do all we can to play matches. There are no refunds or make up days if the tournament is impacted by weather.
