The 2022 Arkansas Senior Olympic Pickleball Tournament and Arkansas Open

We will run two tournaments:

Senior Olympics for ages 50+ (22 indoor courts)

Arkansas Open for all ages under 50 (22 indoor courts)

Dates: October 21-23, 2022

Location: the Matrix Racquet Club

24 Indoor Courts, Hard Court Tennis Surface

Grill and Snack bars available with wide variety of food/water/drinks for purchase and pickleball gear available.

3 women's restrooms - 5 stalls each and a locker room with free lockers w/locks, 3 showers.

3 men's restrooms - 3 stalls/2 urinals each and a locker room with free lockers w/locks, 3 showers.

Food and drinks ARE allowed in seating areas and non-court area.

Seating - bring your own chairs/coolers/food/drinks - tables and chairs available - benches available on playing floor.

Visitors are allowed - no fee

Tournament Ball: Franklin X-40 Optic outdoor ball (yes, we are using an outdoor ball, since we are playing on hard Court floors it will bounce more true and last longer than indoor balls will.)

For the Arkansas Senior Olympics:

Events: Pickleball – Gender Singles (Standard), Gender Doubles, and Mixed Doubles

5-Year Age Groups: (starting at age 50+): 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

Divided into 3 Skill Levels:

Division I: 5.0, 4.5

Division II: 4.0

Division III: 3.5 and below

For the Arkansas Open:

Events: Pickleball – Gender Singles (Standard), Gender Doubles, and Mixed Doubles

Age bands: 10-13, 14-17,18-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49 - Skill divisions 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0

Qualifying for the National Senior Games in Pittsburgh, PA - July 7-18, 2023): Top 4 players/teams in each Age/Skill bracket qualify for Nationals (Only age 50+ qualify for Nationals)

Note: If you qualify in one age bracket this year (based on your age as of 12/31/2022) and age up to the next age bracket, you are qualified in the age bracket you fall in based on your age as of 12/31/2023.

This is a QUALIFYING YEAR for 2023 NSGA Nationals to be held in Pittsburgh, PA from July 8-16, 2023 - This event in 2022 DOES qualify any athlete to compete in the 2023 National Sr Games in Pennsylvania. To compete in our Arkansas Senior Olympics Pickleball Tournament, all competitors must be 50 or older on Dec 31, 2022. For Doubles events your Team’s age group is determined by the youngest person on your team. The age to qualify for NSGA Nationals in 2022, a player must be 50 by December 31, 2022. If you qualify at your current Age and age up before Nationals, you will still be qualified for Nationals but you will play at Nationals based on your age as of Dec 31, 2023. ALL NSGA RULES APPLY!!!
