The Parkland Pickleheads presents the 12th Annual Summer Smash Tournament. We are capping our registration numbers this year so our tournament days can be shorter. Please register early to secure a spot.

Tournament Dates: July 19-21, 2024

Registration Opens: June 10th, 2024 @ 7pm

Registration Closes: July 8th, 2024 @ 7pm

This is a Pickleball Canada SANCTIONED tournament.

Details are as follows:

- Entry Fee: $65.00/player plus $15 per event

BRACKET FORMATS:

1-3 Teams - Combined with another bracket(s) of the same skill level if possible

4-5 teams - Round Robin 1 game to 15, win by 2, based on circumstances (ex. time, weather)

6+ teams - Traditional double-elimination bracket (matches are best 2/3 to 11 on the “A” side of the draw, win by 2). On the “B” side of the draw, each match will consist of 1 game to 15, win by 2.

- Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each (combined) bracket.

- Tournament Ball will be the outdoor yellow Selkirk Pro S1.

**The tournament director reserves the right to add, combine, modify, or cancel skill levels/events pending registration numbers. Events can also be rescheduled/cancelled as needed pending weather and other outside influences beyond our control (ie. Covid restrictions).**

A registration is considered complete when the Team is complete. BOTH players must register within 2 days of the first player's registration OR the team will be moved to the Wait List.

***YOUR PLAYER PROFILE- should have "Receive in game text messages" checked to "YES" AND Cell Carrier should be selected. This is how you will receive your game notifications and court assignments. FAILURE TO SHOW UP ON TIME FOR YOUR GAMES WILL RESULT IN A FORFEIT***. Please arrive a minimum of 30 mins prior to the start of your event.

• All participants must be members of Pickleball Canada.

• Enter as a team or look under 'Players Needing Partners' to find a partner

• Participants will be allowed to enter at their current or 0.5 higher Pickleball Canada skill rating as of the date of registration. This is the new PCO sanctioned criteria policy and will be adhered too. If a tournament has a 4.0 and 4.5+ event without a 5.0/Open event, a 4.0 player CANNOT play up into the 4.5+ event as it is for 4.5 and higher skill players only. In this case, the 4.5+ event acts in the same way as the Open.

Player requested withdrawals will be accepted until Wednesday, July 8th, 2024 at 7pm, with a full refund less $15 administration fee.

After July 8th, 2024 at 7pm, no refunds will be provided. NO EXCEPTIONS!

PLEASE NOTE: This is an outdoor event with no make-up date. In the event of inclement weather that requires the cancellation of any events, a refund is NOT available. If events are in mid play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the event may be finished or if winners may be determined.
