40 by 30 Champions Team Pickleball is the premier SoCal team competition where teams of four players (2 women and 2 men) compete against each other just like the pros in Major League Pickleball. This is the amateur experience with the same thrilling twists on traditional match-ups and scoring for games, matches, and singles-tiebreakers.

MLP Style Format

Teams compete against each other in Matches. A Match consists of four games, starting with one women’s doubles game, then one men’s doubles game, and then two mixed doubles games. If two teams are tied after these four games, an innovative tiebreaker (to 21) is played, with a rotational system involving all four players. Teams first play each other in group or round-robin play, and then the top teams square off in a single-elimination format.

8 teams are divided into 2 pools of four teams- the top two teams from each pool advance to the semi-finals and play in a single elimination round to the finals.

12 teams are divided into three pools of four teams—the top two teams from each pool advance to an elimination bracket (6 teams). The best two teams will have a bye into the semifinals. Quarter-final rounds are played in a single elimination round.

Max 16 Team divisions will be split into 2 events of 8 teams A and B

Senior 50+ Team Format: 4 matches guaranteed- 8-12 games max.

8 teams are divided into 2 pools of four teams after pool play: the top teams from each pool will play for 1st/2nd.

-2nd top team from each pool will play for 3rd/4th

-3rd top teams from each pool will play for 5th/6th

-2 bottom teams will play for 7th/8th

This will ensure each player plays 8-12 guaranteed!

To sign up, a DUPR account is required at the time of registration. Non-rated players can play, however, their estimated rating will be verified by the tournament director, All players must join the 40by30 Champions club on DUPR Please click Join the club now.

Player Registration: PLAYERS USE NAME AS LISTED ON YOUR DUPR ACCOUNT- Teams are not confirmed until all 4 players are paid in full- Captains may sign up the team- The first team on the waitlist, is next in!

When adding your DUPR to registration only use 1 decimal point. I.e 4.6, 3.4. No need to use 4.677 or 3.452

DUPR Divisions: Teams are welcome to play up a division, teams that exceed .50 points will be moved to the next division. DUPR ratings are locked as of the time of registration

The SoCal Battle Royale Series is your pathway to the end-of-the-year "Best Of The Best" Championship. All teams and players earn points for this event, get on the leaderboard now. Players with 1,000 pts early automatic invite!

Cancellation Deadline: To receive a refund of less than $5.00, cancellation must be received by the end of the day on Sept 10th, 2024.

Substitute Players: A team that needs a player substitute must submit the substitute to the tournament director. The substitute player’s DUPR may not cause the established team’s aggregate to go over the max event’s aggregate.

Single Registrations: If you want to play in the Team event but cannot form a team, the tournament director will do their best to place you on a team. For players that are not placed, thus not playing the event, their registration fees will be refunded less $5.

Cash Payout for DUPR 22 Pro Division- for full payout division needs 8 teams, pay-out will slide based on total team registration
