This tournament is a part of the United Pickleball State Championship Series. Gold, Silver and Bronze medalists in any skill/age event (excluding Pro, Senior Pro, Junior and Money Ball events), will automatically receive an entry into the United Pickleball State Championship.

The answer will be revealed soon enough, courtesy of the inaugural United Pickleball State Championship Series, a set of tournaments conducted across all 50 states in the country. The Medalists of these events will secure discounted registration into the United Pickleball Championships “Champions Division” taking place Nov. 4 through Nov. 10 in Dallas, TX.

Moreover, the prospect of earning a coveted spot in the year-end United Pickleball Championship in Dallas, TX adds an extra layer of excitement and motivation. With discounted registration fees for the medalists from each state, the State Championship Series is not only a celebration of skill but also a rewarding experience for those who excel in their divisions. The Champions Division at the United Pickleball Championship brings together the best players from across the country, offering a grand stage for the ultimate showdown and the quest for pickleball supremacy. Champions Division Participants who secure a spot on the podium (Bronze, Silver or Gold) in a skill/age event at a State Championship are eligible for a complimentary event fee to the United States Championship in Dallas, TX. This exclusive offer recognizes and rewards excellence in the Champions Division and ensures the best possible competition.

The United States Championship will take place from November 4th to the 10th.

Discounted Registration. Medalists in skill/age events at United Pickleball State Championship events will receive the following discounts on registration:

Gold - 100% (Free Registration)

Silver - 50%

Bronze - 33%

Medalists will receive an e-mail after a qualifying tournament with details about how to register for the United States Championship in Dallas.

Skill/Age 50 and OVER doubles events will use the following format (Wednesday and Thursday skill/age events):

Skill Levels 5.0 & 4.5 and all other skill levels with more than 20 teams (or 20 players for singles):

Double Elimination with no come around (i.e. if a team loses a match the best they can do is bronze. They cannot come around to win the gold).

* Main Draw: Matches consist of a best of 3 game format with each game to 11, win by 2 points.

* Consolation: Each match consists of one game to 15, win by two points except for the final match which determines 3rd place.

* Events will be combined if there are less than 4 teams in Doubles and less than 4 players in Singles. Depending on the number of registered players/teams in each event, we will combine events either based on skill or age to provide the best overall playing experience, given the circumstances.

* Events with 5 teams or less for doubles and 4 players or less for singles will play a Round Robin format. Winners will be determined by matches won, head-to-head, and point differential.

Skill Levels 4.0, 3.5 & 3.0 with 20 teams (20 players for singles) or less:

Round Robin Format with Playoffs:

4 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for the top three teams,

5 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs of the top three teams.

6 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs of the top three teams.

7 teams: Single Round Robin with Playoffs for the top three teams.

8 teams: 2 pools of 4. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.

9 teams: 1 pool of 4. 1 pool of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.

10 teams: 2 pools of 5. Single Round Robin with playoffs for the top two teams of each pool.

Round Robin Format: Games 1-15 win by 2. Playoff Format: Games 1-15 win by 2 and games 2/3 to 11 win by 2 for Gold.

Skill/Age UNDER 50 doubles events and all Skill/Age singles events will use the following format:

Double Elimination with no come around (i.e. if a team loses a match the best they can do is bronze. They cannot come around to win the gold).

* Main Draw: Matches consist of a best of 3 game format with each game to 11, win by 2 points.

* Consolation: Each match consists of one game to 15, win by two points except for the final match which determines 3rd place.

* Events will be combined if there are less than 4 teams in Doubles and less than 3 players in Singles. Depending on the number of registered players/teams in each event, we will combine events either based on skill or age to provide the best overall playing experience, given the circumstances.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR PRO EVENTS: TUESDAY, APRIL 16, 2024.

QUALIFYING ROUNDS FOR MENS DOUBLES PRO, MENS SINGLES PRO AND MIXED DOUBLES PRO WILL TAKE PLACE ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24TH, BASED ON NUMBER OF REGISTRANTS FOR THE MAIN DRAWS.

Qualifying rounds for the other pro events will take place early on the day of the main event.

Contracted players may receive automatic entry into the main draw based on the MAIN DRAW SELECTION PROCESS. Non-contracted players will sign up for the qualifier rounds. Qualifier rounds take place when the team number (player number for singles) exceeds 48 or 32 for an event. If, after pro registration closes, there are less than 40 teams (for a 48-draw event) or less than 24 teams (for a 32-draw event) in the main draw, teams/players from the qualifier will be moved over based on the main draw selection process. The remainder of the teams/players will compete in the qualifier rounds. The 8 top teams (players for a singles event) who win the qualifier rounds, will move on to the main draw. If an event has 48 or less teams/players for a 48-draw event or 32 or less teams/players for a 32-team event overall (main draw AND its qualifier), there will be no qualifier rounds. In this case, all qualifying teams/players will be moved directly into the main draw. This will be determined after pro registration closes. Event size of 32 or 48 will be determined based on the number of automatic bids into main draw. Players will be notified by Wednesday following the pro registration deadline.

Qualifier Format:

Single Elimination 2/3 to 11 win by 2.

Main Draw Format:

*Single Elimination 2/3 to 11 win by 2.

*The losers of the semis will play a bronze medal match on Championship Sunday

***There will be no Bonus or Back Draw and no PPA Points Draw***

* Gold Medal Match 2/3 to 11 win by 2 for singles

* Gold Medal Match 3/5 to 11 win by 2 for doubles

* Bronze Medal Match 2/3 to 11 win by 2 for all

Please note that if you are playing in a doubles event and your partner does not register within 7 days of when you register, you will automatically be moved to the waitlist. Please note that after main draws are seeded and finalized, no partner changes are allowed. For qualifiers, partner changes are allowed until 6 pm the day before the qualifier event.

Players must be paid and have a registered and paid partner to be confirmed. Players not paid and without registered and paid partners will be moved to a wait list if the division in which a spot is being held is filled with fully registered and paid teams.

After registration is closed, any registered player losing a partner must replace that partner with an already registered player. The replacement partner must be in the same skill/age group that you are scheduled to play. Players can play down in age and up in skill. Replacements need to be known and communicated to the registration contact by 6pm the day before you are scheduled to play. Replacements can be found on the players needing partners list.

Rules:

- This is a coed bracket - both male and female players will be accepted, based on their WPR at the time or registration. A player's individual rating must be 5.5 and under.

- Play will consist of both gender and mixed doubles in one bracket.

- Partner required at time of registration.

- Partner has 36 hours to register or the team will be moved to the wait list.

- No contracted PPA Pro players.

-If you are playing in a Pro event (contracted players excluded), you may also play in the MoneyBall event. However, if your pro event or qualifier event takes place on the same day as the MoneyBall event, you must choose one or the other. You may select a partner replacement for the MoneyBall event until 6 pm the day before the event.

- Senior Pro, Junior Pro and Amateur players are welcome (as long as they meet the criteria above).

- Registration fee - $75 per person.

- Registration is limited to 16 teams.

- Format: Double Elimination, 2/3 games to 11 win by two. Loser's bracket: games 1-15 win by two. There is no come around from the loser's bracket.

- There will be a waiting list - when someone withdraws, a team on the waiting list will take their place. If a team withdrawal happens after 6 pm the day before the event, no waitlisted teams will be moved to the main event.

-Partner replacements are allowed until 6 pm the day before the event.

- 1st place - $600

- 2nd place - $400

PPA events are outdoor events. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs the PPA will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined.

If you withdraw before the CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE, you will be issued a full refund (with a $25 processing fee deducted) without the need to purchase Registration Insurance.

During registration you may choose to purchase the Registration and Weather Insurance Policy in the event you have to cancel out of the event after the CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE. See the policy for specific coverage details. The insurance will also cover your event fee in the case your event is cancelled due to weather without a make-up day option.
