CommuniCare Classic Pickleball Tournament - September 26-28, 2025
Hosted by San Antonio Pickleball Association (SAPA) and Valero Alamo Bowl with all net proceeds benefitting the SAPA/ Valero Alamo Bowl High School and College Scholarship program.
Divisions include Hybrid Wheelchair (one standing player with a seated player - wheelchair player uses USA Pickleball rules for two bounce allowance).
UPDATE from Pickleball Brackets::
Players planning to register for the CommuniCare Classic Pickleball tournament on Sept. 26-28, must have DUPR account linked to Pickleballbrackets.com to complete registration. Results from DUPR-enabled events organized on Pickleball Brackets will automatically count for players’ ratings.
CommuniCare Classic will be using DUPR and Pickleball Brackets to rate players, set brackets and seed players based on DUPR/Pickleball Brackets for a more competitive, level-based event. We are asking players to complete these two important steps prior to registering:
• Create a DUPR account by going to https://dashboard.dupr.com/signup.
• To connect your DUPR account to Pickleball Brackets players will need to log into your PickleballBrackets.com account and complete the “Connect DUPR” process. Click here for a step-by-step guide to connect to DUPR.
Early registration - March 15 - June 30 - $70 (ends at midnight)
Registration begins July 01 - Aug. 16 - $80 (ends at midnight)
Late Registration - Aug. 17 - Sept. 13 - $90 (ends at midnight)

After one partner registers, the other partner has 7 days to register.
After 7 days the team goes on the waitlist.
Registration fee includes one event, $10 for each additional event AND includes a Unisex Dry Fit t-shirt. Guaranteed shirt size if registered by August 28th, after the 28th shirt size will be based on availability.

Friday - All Singles & Friday night Party Pickle
Saturday - Gender Doubles
Sunday - Mixed Doubles and Coed Hybrid
*Reminder:
Gates open at 7:00 AM each morning. Check in opens 1 hour prior to your event start time. Please check in 30 minutes prior to your event. All Player Briefings will be 15 minutes prior to your event start time. If you arrive later than 15 minutes after your start time, that match will be forfeited. Warm-ups prior to your match will be limited to 5 minutes.
During the tournament you will be notified by text to report to the tournament desk for your next match. You can view tournament status/results here or via scannable QR Codes to be posted on site.

Format will be established based on number of entries:
3-12 teams = Round Robin
Less than 3 team will be consolidated with neighbor
This is a NON-Sanctioned tournament.

Tournament Director reserves the right to makes changes on event dates and times as needed. As well as move a team to a higher division based on previous tournaments.
SAPA members, do not register until you have your specific tournament discount code.

All players, by registering/paying for this tournament agree to the following USA Pickleball/ Pickleball Brackets waiver. If you do not agree with this wavier, do not register for this tournament.

Refund Policy

Cancellation Policy
September 6, 2025 - CANCELLATION DEADLINE (for full refunds minus a $10 withdraw fee):
No refunds for any reason after the CANCELLATION DEADLINE of September 6, 2025 at midnight, including inclement weather.
PAYMENT/PARTNER POLICY
Players must be paid and have a registered and paid partner to be confirmed. Players not paid and without registered and paid partners will be moved to a wait list after one week if the division in which a spot is being held is filled with fully registered and paid teams.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
This is an outdoor event. If inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs the tournament director will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined.
PARTNER REPLACEMENT POLICY:
Any registered player losing a partner must replace that partner with an already registered player. The replacement must be in the same skill group that you are scheduled to play. Players can play up in skill. Replacements need to be known and communicated to the registration contact by 6pm the day before you are scheduled to play. Replacements can be found on the players needing partners list.

Prize Money

Prize Money for 4.5+ divisions only
WHAT-A-CHAMPION sponsored by WHATABURGER
Prize money awarded to those players who meet the below requirements.
Player must win all 3 events in the 4.5+ skill division with 18+, 35+ and 50+ only..
1. Singles 4.5+
2. Gender doubles 4.5+
3. Mixed doubles 4.5+
THE 4.5+ DIVISION is open to amateur pickleball players ONLY.
WHAT IS AN AMATEUR? Someone who, at the time of sign up, has not won an APP or PPA main draw GENDER DOUBLES match (back draw or consolation are ok) in the past YEAR AT THE TIME OF SIGN-UP nor has played in a Major League Pickleball match.
Minimum of 4 entries in division to qualify for Grand Slam! If event is combined with another division the overall winner in the combined division will qualify for the prize money.
Those players meeting the above requirement will split evenly $1,000. Maximum 9 winners! Minimum payout per person is $111.11
